Thank you so much Jackie. I looked there, but didn't scroll all the way down and click on my profile...LOL. As you can see...I found it. Thanks so much. I will be anxiously awaiting that little ticker to move downwards...
Gee...you must have had a ball...only 2.5 hours sleep??? Wow, you need some down time. I know that sometimes the excitement can get to you.
Today was my first real day at work and I am pooped. They kept me 1 1/2 hours longer than expected. I will now be working the late shift from 2 to 9 pm. I will continue to post here...but it will be at different times. I'll work it out...LOL. I walked and bent over and reached for hours today. That should help get the pounds off...LOL. I worked with a lady that was well into her 70's. She has been working there for 10 months and said she has lost 40 pounds since working there. So, there is help for me yet...hahahahahaha.
Have a great one and I'll check back tomorrow. This old bird is going to bed!
Blessings and hugs,
Loupy

Hi Loupy!
OK - go to your home page, at the top it says something like email preferences - click on that - that brings you to the page where you can add or change things that you've written about yourself, for example the beautiful flowers that are by your name, roll down to the bottom of that page and that's where the tape thing is. Hope I've been clearer now.
I'm sure that you will enjoy your daughter's wedding too. I just hope that you'll sleep better afterwards - I've been on such a high that I've only slept about 2.5 hours & I'm really tired but can't sleep! Oh well, I'll have an early night tonight!

Hi Jackie,

Sounds like the wedding was lots of fun. I am so happy that people could see you lost the weight. Nothing like getting a pat on the back for your hard work!!!
About the tape thingy...I went to my home, but I don't have anything that says "My preferences". If you read this again, maybe you can retrace your steps and find it again. I would really love to have one, but if I don't I guess it will be OK. Anyway...what's important is that your daughter got married and it was wonderful!I certainly hope I feel the same way after my daughters wedding.
Blessings and hugs,
Loupy

Hi!
Congratulations on your weddings!
I've just come back from my daughter's wedding!
One of the nicest things was that everyone said how great I looked and that I had lost a lot of weight!
Actually, I haven't lost that much and certainly didn't make my goal. But I so didn't want to be the fat mother of the bride and I don't think I was (maybe just the "overweight mother of the bride"!!
My other daughter is getting married in October and so I still have something to aim for.
Congrats and good luck with the job, Grandmaloupy!
If you go to "My Home" and then "preferences" you'll find the place to add these cute ruler things! I did mine a few hours ago when I was still drunk from the wedding !!!!!!!! So I can't quite remember what I did!!!

Hello Everyone,

Just wanted to check in today. I finally got a job. I start tomorrow at 8 am...yippee. It's not much, but it gets me out of the house and it has lots of room for advancement. I hope I like it!!
Wanted to know where you guys get those little tickers for your weight and goals? Have I missed something? It seems to me it would help keep me on the straight and narrow. Please let me know. Thanks so much.
No exercise today as I had orientation, but I am worn out...so to speak. I need to get to bed early. I'm not used to that. I hope they change my hours to later in the day. Was supposed to work in the afternoons. Oh well, work is work...LOL.
Have a great one tomorrow everyone and I'll check back in with you later.
Blessings and hugs,
Loupy

You have been thru alot. Congratulations on your success. I just love this site...it makes it so easy. I have 6 1/2 months to lose about 70 pounds...that's pretty agressive, but at least now I'm on the right track. Good luck to you...keep in touch!!

I will be turning 55 the end of the month and am getting married for the second time two weeks after. I had gained about 70 pounds during my 16 year marriage then. After my divorce 8 years ago, I had been losing about 10 pounds a year the first 3 years just from lack of stress. Then two years ago I wrecked my beloved Harley Dyna Lowrider, broke both legs and after a couple of months in a wheelchair, packed on the pounds. Then I retired and accelerated the pack on. I had to put the brakes on and have been on Spark People for a couple of months. I'm exercising regularly and keeping track of food and I have lost about 17 pounds and don't mind taking it slow. I havn't met my goal, but have decided that as long as the weight loss continues I'm happy.

Well, the pool is a subdivision pool, so there are always a lot of people there. I had much the same experience with exercise. I went to a pretty rough elementary school and some of the students seemed to think it was fun to hit other kids as hard as they could with balls etc. No one did much about it but sports quickly became something less than fun. I never got over it...I won't play any game that involves a ball...which is most of them where you actually move. My biggest problem now is time. I work 8 hours a day, commute for 2 and have my house to keep clean (some exercise, I guess) and we are trying to get Randy's house on the market which is all consuming at the moment. I guess it will all shake out at some point. Right now I think I am just going to try to walk.
Have a great day.

Christine,

I wish I had a pool. I have to go to the public pool here. But, the classes are closed to just a few so I don't think there will be a problem. You and I have similar thoughts on exercise. I really hate to exercise. In fact, I wish I could find another word for it. When I was in school and someone goofed off...we were "Punished" by having to run around the track more or do more push ups or something horrible. So, I think of exercise as punishment. Stupid Gym teachers...LOL. And, another thing...I hate to sweat. I know they say it is good for you, but I was brought up that ladies didn't sweat...especially on purpose...hahahahahaha!!
Anyway...I do it because I have to.
Talk to you soon.

Thanks Loupy. I am 55 and have 3 growns sons and 7 grandkids. I was married 30 years the first time around and have been divorced for 7. I think my biggest problem is exercise...I think I hate it. I like to swim and we do have a pool in my complex so for the summer, I think that is what I will do. I like the exercise bike also...that's not too bad. I am a couch potato deluxe. I realize that in order to stuff my butt into this dress, I will need to lose both inches and pounds...so here goes. I appreciate your help.

Hi Christine,

I will be happy to be a support and encouragement to you. I need to lose 50 before Nov 6 as my daughter is getting married and I don't want to be a fat mother of the bride. So, we have similar goals. I'm so happy for you. I found the love of my life at 35. They come along when we least expect them...LOL.
What kind of exercise do you do? I like Leslie Sansome Walk away the pounds videos. I'm hoping to sign up for some water aerobics in the coming weeks. I also do some strength training and Core Secrets DVD's. I thought they would be hard, but I only find the ones I have to do on my back on the ball hard. It seems to hurt my neck.
Anyway...good luck and as I said, I would love to support and encourge you and ask the same from you for myself. We can do it. OBTW...I am 58 a mother of 2 and grandmother of 3.
Talk to you soon.

I'm new here and am planning my wedding. I bought the dress I am going to be married in long before I ever met the man that I am going to marry (a long but semi-cute story). Now I just have TO GET INTO IT. I have 50 pounds to lose before December 24th and am willing to do what it takes. I could use everyone's help.
