Boy what a mess I was yesterday! Went shopping with my daughter and one of her bridemaids for a gown, and they decided to stop by this mexican restaurant. Well I was bad, I had fish tacos (that's kinda healthy???? lol) and taquitos. That killed my calories for the day. Well, I was proud of the fact that I layed off the beans and rice! I only had a tomato salad for dinner, but man!!!My graph will go off the charts on that day! Today I've got to get my body moving to burn some fat so I've got some very lively and upbeat music on and playing "Shakira" as much as possible. It's actually fun! Next time I fall off the wagon and do that kid of food, I'm only ordering one item!
Take care and have a healthy holiday!

Hi there, you do have to eat a certain amount of calories in order for your body not to go into starvation mode. It is a combination of good food calories and exercise (oh the dirty word). also enough water to keep your system flushed. you can actually eat too little. I am not convinced about the late or later at night eating. I also work fairly late and have a lot of evening meetings. I think it has more to do with whether you've had your daily nutrtion or not. I am border line diabetic, so i sometimes need a "little something" later in the evening just to keep myself normalized. the key is "little" of course!!!! I just know that I have been serious about this program since I started in march, and it seems like the easiest time i have ever had losing weight. And I have taken "side trips" but i fell better mentally than i ever have about losing weight also. I just get back on the program and keep going. the suppoert you receive here is phenominal, and can never ever be underestimated. It may be the one single best part of the whole equation. I've lost weight lots of times, but always felt like it was such a lonely sad battle, and eventually i'd either quit or reach a goal, but go back to bad habits . that's what feels different this time, this is not just a diet, but a change in how i both eat and how i look at food as a whole. I wish you the best in your endeavor, and stay with us because we will cheer you on, laugh with you, cry with you --whatever you need!!! Blessings, bonnie

Thanks for the encouragement Bonnie! I too love this site, it is the best thang that's happened to my inability to get charged up to do what I need to do. And you guys are great about helping with the needed good word. Isn't that all anyone needs to get going? A little encouragement goes such a long way!
And what is up with this non weight loss of mine? I think I've slipped under burning 1000 day, instead of the 1500 I'm supposed to be eating....I guess it goes with the age of 55...my body thinks I should be slowing down and my mind is saying, "PICK IT UP DI", LOL!!!
I look forward to getting to know you more...what's your biggest challenge? Mine seems to be eating too late. I work till 5, eat lunch around 1 or 2...so I don't get hungry till 7 or 8. I heard eating after 6 is bad anytime, but especially bad carbs....they just sit there and turn to fat while you're sleeping. Last night I just cut dinner out since I had a great breakfast and lunch. Don't know if that's good, but at least I didn't gain anything! ha!
Talk to ya soon DJ

welcome, you have good motivation-no matter what source it comes from we just have to use what we have where we are!!!!
i relate to the jigglies-i've lost 15 lbs-that part is great but it's all loose and wiggly now-i could hurt someone if i turn too fast!!!! LOL
i am motivated to look good just for myself this time and to feel better and to be able to live the rest of my life comfotably and in good health. this took time to work this out, tho, i started because all my pants were too tight. now i'm going to wear smaller pants!!!!
good luck to you. stay with us and we'll root you on and you can walk to your seat at your daughter's weding with your head high and swinging your smaller cute behind!!!!
blessings, bonnie

Thanks Msmithbrad!
It's very encouraging to hear you've made that much progress. I've been on here almost a week and I haven't lost anything, but I have certainly gained knowledge about what I'm eating that's causing the non-weight loss!!! This last 25 pounds is going to be a challenge....
The wedding is a big motivater, especially since my daughter's dad will be there (my ex) and his new 40-something gal-pal. It's not that I want to look great for him, but I do think about walking down that long walk to the front seat with her looking on, and since I've never met her, I just want to look my best. Especially since so far I don't have a guy pal of my own, so I think my main motivation is to look the best I can and make my daughter proud--and not feel self-conscience. Ya know????
Besides, summer is coming up and if I can get motivated to get in shape I think it will do a lot for my confidence and energy level...Do you hear me talking myself into this???? LOL!
Take care, and let me know how you're doing it!

Thanks!

Welcome DJ. I have been here for about 4 months and have lost about half of the 25 pounds I wanted to lose.
I love the food and exercise trackers. Lately I have been low on motivation but hopefully your daughter's wedding will be a great motivation for you.

Hello everyone...I just wanted to say hello, it's my 2nd day on here and this site has got me soooo motivated. I thank you Sparkle!
I only need to lose around 20-25 pounds (those last 20 are tough!) but the main reason I'm here is because I have become a flabby mess. I am so sick of everything jiggling when I don't want it to jiggle! My daughter's wedding is in 5 months so I have set my goals to be in the best shape I've been in a long time.
I also want to wish all of you great success with your goals, and have enjoyed reading your posts.
Take care, look forward to getting to know ya'll better.
