Hey! I found a typo in the automated e-mail you get when you forward an article to someone:
"SparkPeople offers the best online weigh loss value in the world. You can get the same features as sites like ediets and weight watchers for a fraction of the price. Lose weight and build healthy habits with nutrition, fitness, and motivations tools and resources. To learn more, visit www.sparkpeople.com."
Should be "weight-loss" in the first sentence and "motivation" or "motivational" in the second-to-last.

| A funny typo. When you do the Healty Life Style Scale and forget to put in the minutes of exercise then enter, a message says Please tell us how many exercise minutes you ate today.

| Janice, It will happen. Two women lawyers who are successful that I know cope with depression. My heart goes out to you and you are in my prayers.

| It's so much easier to spot something if you didn't type it yourself but I'm glad to see the typos corrected all the same.

On the action steps for drinking more water, the very last step says "Simple fill up each bottle when you’re done" ... should be "Simply".

On the "printable resources" page, bottom left, there's a sheet that helps you track the "ammount" of something. Okay, I had to come off that panel to come over here and type it in -- obviously, no short-term memory left today!
Can we get SparkPoints for catching typos? If so, I am SO taking over the leaderboards. Wha ha ha ha.
Janice, you are in my thoughts often. Hope you're still tracking down typos out there!

It's good to know I'm not the only person that picks out typos. Keep up the good work! If I see anything, I'll contribute...

Looking a day ahead on the SparkPoints page, I found:

Thanks for fixing that typo!
I see we can now view "nutritional information" -- I appreciate that!

sera,
Yes! I certainly did receive it and I thank you very much.
It sounds like a job I would not only enjoy, but I would LOVE.
I am currently getting better from depression (I've had it for years) and realize I am still presently struggling with it too much to even entertain the idea of a full time job just yet.
You have given me hope that, when ready, there is work I would not only be able to do, but would love to do.
I'd like to keep in touch with you, if possible, to keep that hopeful beam of light pointing in my direction.
I do have an English background, have been published (once, it was an article on how to write a good essay using effective transition sentences for 'The Mailbox Magazine' for teachers) and I have given my time freely to web site owners as well as to some published works. I never thought it could turn into a job!!! Just to think so is very exciting, sera!
Thanks again, sera. Please keep in touch!

DW_Sera,
I am an English Major and am very interested in learning more about your field.
I live in a small town and wonder if I could find work as a web editor?
How does one get started?
I have taught for years, and I do tend to spot typos and grammatical errors (I started this thread).
Thanks for any help and information you could send my way.

According to salary.com, the average salary for a Senior Web Editor (my official title) is around 80K. I have 14 years of writing and editing experience and I make more than that. So yes, I'd say it pays well -- and I work for a big company that offers excellent benefits.
However, the early years of technical writing I did on my way toward this job did NOT pay well. And I do tend to work about 90 gazillion hours a week -- oh, and my job is very stressful and has a weekly publishing deadline. Apart from that, it's great!
To get a job in my field, you need a degree in English or Journalism, plus a predisposition toward the technical. Classes in Web architecture, XML, Java, and HTML are a boon. And you have to have that eagle-eye for typos, of course!

Found one in today's motivational article on the mediterranean diet:
"Enjoy lean read meat only a few times each month"
That would be _red_ meat. And I'd throw a period on the end of that bullet item to make it parallel with the others.
PS -- Want to guess what I do for a living? Web site editor :-).

In the article, 'Find Unexpected Opportunities', near the bottom, is a wee error:
Always thinks “how can I make this everyday activity more active?”
The word 'thinks' should not have an 's' on it.

You're welcome, Mike!
I LOVE reading the articles on SparkPeople. You have EXCELLENT writers working for you!
As the site does expand, is the cost going to eventually go up? I can't remember when I first subscribed to SparkPeople, but I think my renewal fee might be coming up soon.
Also, your writers use the BEST metaphors to get messages across, which is something I truly appreciate, as being able to see something in my mind is a much more effective tool for me to retain the information than just reading words.
Thanks to all your staff!!!!!!!

Thanks Janice! Yeah, we definitely want to fix anything we may have missed. Guess that can happen as the site gets bigger and bigger.

Hi there!
When I read things I often find typos. Anyone else? If so, this might be a thread for you.
If you find any typos or grammatical errors on our SparkPeople site, please share them here as I think, perhaps, SparkPeople would want to fix them. SparkPeople is such a wonderful site, this is just my wee contribution to help it to be even more perfect.
I found a missing "to" in the following passage found in the motivation section:
8. Spread the spark
When friends and family see how hard you’re working, they’ll wonder how they can reach their own goals. Guess who they’re going look to for help? By staying motivated, you’ll not only help yourself, but others too.
The "to" is needed between the words 'going' and 'look'. The sentence should read:
Guess who they’re going to look to for help?
