I have no idea what I'm wearing to my daughter's wedding in September. San Francisco can be beautiful that time of year or it can be really cold. What does everyone else plan to wear or do you know yet??

Debbie,
My best tip for looking great at the wedding is to smile. Crest White Strips will perk up your smile and pretty quickly. Remember it's the bride's day and all eyes will be on her. Just be there and enjoy the day!

I had one daughter married in March and the other will be married in September. I hope to have significant differences in the before and after wedding photos. If I keep up the SparkPeople program, I should be about 50-60 lbs. lighter... We'll see.

Good luck on your journey and just be glad you can be there to share the day with the happy couple. The groom's mom in the September wedding died two years ago of breast cancer. We're blessed to have children who are loved and to be able to share that special date with them.

hugs,
kali

Well Israel is one place I haven't even visited yet. How wonderful to have places like SP to bring us all together in cyberworld.

the other nice feature at myshape.com is they show examples of flattering clothes-for-you and the name below the photo links to a website where it can be purchased...which likely has other options in your size.

https://myshape.com/index.php

Just found above website. After you register for free you put in complete measurements of your body and preferences in style (from Romantic, Classic to Artistic, Trendy, etc) and color ranges (Winter to Summer shades) etc.
Then it gives examples of clothes that are most flattering to your size. I thought it had some good ideas.

Get the pressure off and take it one day at a time, one meal at a time, one mouthful at a time. The only time we're given is right now so we can do the moment can't we? See,no pressure. Get the nicest dress that fits you now and can be taken in easily. Get the best haircolor or wig if needed, nicest accessories, bought or borrowed and shoes that have a life of their own. Have a smile on your lips and a tear in your eye,and you will be the most beautiful mother of the bride----ever.

DEBBIEJEANNE even if you lose just part of the weight you want, the loss will translate into your glowing with the knowledge that you are being disciplined and consistent with your plan for a healthier you. This looks great and feels wonderful and will have you looking beautiful. Wearing the same color top and skirt or dress is more slimming for us shorter women as it creates one long line. I like solid more subtle colors and clothes with a nice drape. You can lose enough by your target date to have you glowing.

Hey Debbie, aka sparkplug!

I've got about a year to lose. but want to look good since my ex's wife had surgery to lose and then two surgeries to lift boobs and thighs. So I really have to work!

There used to be another "Mother of the Bride" thread. One of the other girls from sparkplugs was on it. You might want to check it out.

Good luck, Terrie

Right on jackie hope that dress swim's on you. Have a great time at your weddings, me to Hope I can be under 290 before Jeanna get married. I have a lot of nice clothes.

Was thinking about dying my hair, if I do I will probly end up cutting it off because I will not like to have to dye it all the time.

Hi, I'm also a fat mother of the bride (wedding June 8th). So I understand you. I have managed to loose a little bit of weight, but not as much as I had hoped. I have chosen an outfit that is (hopefully) slimming. I am also doing the things that the others have suggested, facial, hair and makeup. I have even bought disposable contact lenses as I couldn't afford to get new glasses!!
You still have a few weeks in which to loose a couple of pounds. You've got the motivation I know, but even if you don't manage to loose anything, you will look great on the day, because you will feel full of joy for your daughter and that is going to shine thru you!!
I have yet another daughter getting married in October & I am determined that what I will be wearing for this wedding will be too big for me then!!
Good luck!
Jackie

Hi,

I think Aunt Bee hit the mark with her comments. Try to look your best. You have a few good weeks ahead to try and lose a couple of pounds. Remember not to focus too much on your weight, eat healthy and place your focus on looking beautiful. Do you a have Penningtons Store near you? They have gorgeous outfits for the mother of the bride. Sears also as Image sizes and they have beautiful outfits too. There are many shops that cater to the fuller figured woman that have dress apparel.

You will look fabulous when your daughter walks down the aisle whether you loose weight or not before then. Hairstyle, makeup, manicure, and your will be radiant.

Hugs,
Chouchi

Hello there my daughter is getting married I have had 8 month to lose weight, well I am still about the same weight I was at the first of the year. All we can do is pick a dress that is not to tight. Have our hair styled, nails done and a facial a couple weeks before the wedding. May be a day at the spa, ya right! on my income. Just dreaming, do some nice things to make you feel more beautiful. One thing is to drink ones water to help our skin look it's best. I am guilty at charged my skin is dried up and looks awful from lack of drinking my water, plus med's.

You are going to look your best that is all you can do. I wish you a peaceful, joyful time at your daughters wedding.
