Hats off to the suggestion of a fruit/veggie tracker.
I think this would be extremely benefical, especially to those of us who are motivated to drink more water just because of the constant reminder with the water glass. Having a fruit/veggie basket or scale system would encourage me to eat more fruits/veggies.

| I think it would be great if the nutritional tracker automatically figured out how many fruits and veggies you have had for the day. I am having a very hard times with this. I am doing great on calories and watching fats and cholesterol, etc. But not sure how healthy I am eating. I do use the Lifestyle thingy but thing that it is rather elementary.

| I just add water to the food tracker. That way when I print it out, I can see how many glasses I had for each day.

Would it be possible to ttrack the number of glasses of water drunk in a day to be printed on the printable nutrition report. I know that it is on Other Goals, but when I take the nutrition sheets in to the doctor I also have to take the goal sheets in also and she can't get a good view of my whole nutririon pattern. Thank you for your concideration.

When I first read your suggestion I didn't know if it would make a difference, but when I go to View Spark Points and then the first area Daily Challenge, when I click on Use Lifestyle Scale. You have to put in calories, fruits, vegetables, sleep hours, exercise hours and it tells you how well you are doing. Well - some days I'm low in calories, and good in everything except fruits and vegetables and I'm doing okay, but not great according to the scale. Then, last night I went way over in calories, but had fruit and vegetables and had exercised heavily earlier and I ranked better. So, by eating the vegetables and fruit you get further on the healthy lifestyle scale.
I hope I explained this okay. If not, use the Lifestyle Scale under My Spark Points.
In saying all that - a little vegetable and fruit basket, like the water glass, might be helpful.
Like Marnikins, it's just a suggestion and I'm not being critical as this site is WONDERFUL. I thought I knew everything there was about calories, but seeing it in front of you helps me tell where I can improve. Like last night - I had grilled shrimp - very low in calories, but the salad dressing put me wayyyyyy over. I should have just had the coleslaw, which is higher, but lower than the dressing (there was no low cal). I was able to see a couple other areas I could have eliminated and still had a nice dinner out.

| I would love to see this as well. I am just starting out learning to eat healthier and this would be a great tool to make it easier. It would also put an emphasis on eating the fruits and vegetables which, imo, is the food group a lot of us struggle to meet the daily needs in. I like this idea.

| I also think that would be a great idea. I track everything I eat, but it is hard to see if I got all the fruits and veggies in for the day.

| that would be nice~~when i go to count how many fruits and veggies i had for the healthy lifestyle scale, that would make it MUCH easier

| That sound like a great idea. I think that would motivate me more to remember to eat those fruits and veggies.

| I think that's a great idea. A more visual way of knowing how many fruits/veggies we had!!

First, let me start by saying that I love this site. I think what you are doing here is amazing. It also really impresses me that you are giving all of this to us for free, I know a few people who are benefiting from this site since they just cannot afford to participate in some of the other programs that cost upwards of $25 or more per month.
As I said, I love this site so the suggestion I have is certainly not critism of the system the way it is by any means.
What I would find useful is a means to graphically track fruit & veggie servings similar to the way we track our water intake. I think this would be especially helpful in the earlier stages when we're learning how to eat properly. It would give us a quick visual of how close we are to satisfying the recommended servings for the day. Maybe it could be a little basket of fruits and veggies with a number on it like the water glass?! ;)
Let me know what you think.
