JMCELYEA
welcome to the thread.
I'd like to do more quilting, but I never seem to have enough time and no room either.
One of these days!!!!

Sunshine521, I think I can probably adapt my granny square pattern to make baby blankets. I only did one zigzag and I was really slow at it. Soooooo........
Blessings to you, both,
Bonnie

Hi Bonnie
No I don't have a pattern my Uncle tought me the zigzag pattern before he passed away but what I did I measured a regular baby blanket and just made my first blanket that size. If you plan to make the zigzag one I can tell you how many points you need for the size I made

My Mom used to knit baby clothes and booties and as we got older she would make us sweaters then when we left home she made sets of sweaters with matching hats, gloves and scarfs and go to Colorado and would sell them boy people woul;d order stuff from her she was always busy knitting but at that time I wasnt interested in knitting now I wish I knew how but she has arthritis so bad in her fingers she can't even teach me to knit. My Uncle taught me to crochet but all I know how to do is make blankets. I make alot of them for the hospitals for the people who can't afford blankets to wrap their babies in when they leave home so we organized a group for that, I have made at least 20 so far some of the others make hats and sweaters. Good orginization to help others and it makes you feel good to help someone else

Deana,
Your wreath sounds pretty.
I have the straw version with ivy, a wicker watering can, and some yellow and purple flowers. Put me in the mood for spring, even tho it is still cold here.
It's at my front door, so I see it every time I come home.
Have a good day ladies,
Blessings,
Bonnie

I grew up in a very artistic family. I've done watercolor, oil, and charcoals. I can crochet and make crafts. I also have a flair for decorating. We all inherited the artistic gene!

Everything I tried to crochet turned out gross, unless it was small. I do recall trying to make a vest, it was not fit to wear. I did make little toys crocheted over the Leggs eggs. Long time ago.
Last night, I decorated a grapevine wreath for spring, with baby breath and johnny jumpups. It turned out nice.

Congratulations on the GD. I don't have any from my own kids, but have 10 from the SO and one on the way in August. Don't know what it is , yet. Today, went to the 1 year old grandson's birthday party. He is such a sweetie. And the pictures are going to be great. If I ever figure out how to download them I can put some on my SparkPage!!!
Maybe I'll get inspired for this next one to crochet something. Haven't made baby ones since I had my own kids!!!
Did you ever crochet any clothes in the 60's or 70's. They were really popular for awhile. I can remember styling in my hot pink mini skirt and matching vest!!!!! Also made the more conservative brown version, but wore lime green tops with it!!!!
Course I only weighed a lttle over a 100 pounds back then to, made a slightly prettier picture than it would now.
As they said on "All in the Family", "those were the days" !!!
Blessings,
Bonnie

I'm still working on an afghan for my daughter. She got to pick the colors, so it is not a surprise. This is the 4th one that I have made that is this big--essentially queen-size bed .
She picked really pretty colors so it has been a real pleasure to work on it. I can crochet and watch TV at the same time, so I don't feel like I'm wasting my time just sitting in front of the boob tube. And I'm not eating!!!!

Thanks, Deana,
I too have had success before, altho always quit before I reached my final goal. In fact, I did manage to keep some of the weight off that I lost the last time, but 10 pounds of it kept sneaking past my lips (honest, officer, I don't know how that donut got there!!!!)
I feel much more confidant this time and it's because of all you wonderful other sparkers who keep me motivated and pick me back up when I'm down,
aw, I got all mushy there!!!

I am sure you will get there. I am almost there for the 5th or 6th time, I didn't even start out to lose weight, this time. I wanted to help my daughter lose and we joined a gym together. Which seems to be taking over all of my other hobbies! Exercise! Who would have ever believed it? Definitely, not me, I thought I was allergic to exercising.

Hi, All

I also have quite a large collection of Teddy Bears. I spend a lot of time trying to garden, I love working in the yard. I envy all those lovely English looking gardens and wonder how I can ever get to that level.

Collecting depression glass is one of my other weaknesses, especially green glass. I love antiques but won't spend a lot of money to get one, it has to be a real find.

Patches,
You and I can go camping together.
I can count the fingers of one hand the times I went somewhere that didn't have hot running water and someplace soft to sleep!!!!!

Ladies...camping??? My idea of "roughing it" is staying in a hotel without a jacuzzi.

I crochet (don't know how to knit), read a lot, garden, and try to come up with new things to cook. I do play the mandolin but couldn't sew myself out of a paper bag.

WOW--I do remember macrame!
I made a lot of plant hangers back in the day, but now it is easier just to go buy them!
I have never liked camping--don't like dirt or bugs.
I think it's funny that I do garden, but I wash my hands a lot! LOL

Hi Bonnie & Bee...

I love teddy bears too, how can any one ever be sad around a teddy bear

There are patterns to sew teddy bears with too, I've always thought it might be fun maybe a project for next winter.

I also love gardening and just started a new indoor plant project again, I am buying a plant of the month to get this going again.

I sew, crochet, do some plastic canvas, I like the fast and quick hobbies myself. Over the years I have tried just about everything, does anyone else here remember macrame, LOL, I still have a couple unfinished projects in a box in my craft room

We used to do a lot of camping too, but these days I have to be off the ground too.
