Someone told me "I didn't look to bad for being a grandmother" - Is that what you call a back-handed compliment?

10 lbs is GREAT! See, it really will not take you that long on your 100 lb quest. I started on my 93 lb quest about 18 months ago - I gave it about 3 yrs time to reach my goal. Esp. after reading up on weight loss on this site. I am 42 lbs lighter at this time with 18 more months to go. I should be 57 lbs lighter - but I gained 15 lbs back before I joined this site (lost 43 lbs, gained 15 back, then joined this site 1-10-06 and have lost 14 here. I am going to stay with spark people the rest of the way. Three pounds a month is a realistic pace - esp if it results in a permanent healthy life - I have all the time in the world for that! LOL

Thank you so much for responding and for taking the time to read my profile. That was really nice of you. Also, thanks for the advice. I guess I skipped the goal time limit because I can't even imagine how long it will take. But what you recommended sounds good to me. I went to the Dr. last on March 2 and lost 17 lbs. within 2 weeks. However I figured about 12 of that was fluid only. And my fluid level has been down now for a good week and I still have a loss of 10 lbs. so I am pleased with that. I will start short walks this week. The weather just straightened up here. Thanks again, and I will be back to this forum to share my stories and lQQk for more from you and others.

Glad to have you here at spark people. The "posters" in the fit and 50 forum are really nice. You have found your nitch with us! Your profile says you need to loose 100 lbs and with your health the way it is, I agree. However, just to say you are going to loose 100 lbs with no timetable or schedule could cause motivational problems. Even if it was a five year timetable, at least you would have a schedule. I suggest going for a 10 lbs loss over 3 months and see how that goes. It is too bad that you can not take much in liquids due to your health limits - but that is only an obstacle that needs to be overcome. I would also suggest SOME exercise. Laughing does burn calories, and you sound like a fun gal that laughs alot - but some walking might be a good idea to implement. When I started walking, the most I could do for the first day was out to my curb - now I am walking a couple of miles at a time. It is hard to start..... but spark plans start with small steps.
Gald to have you on board. You will get lots of help here -- just ask.

OKI
You won at the casinos?
Because I did not win at the casinos in Vegas.
I said my business was successful, not my gambling.
But then, I take the advice of the casinos - never gamble more than you can afford to loose. Which ain't too much for this old, fat, bad, craps player!

Lots of great things are happening to me.
VERY successful business trip to Vegas last week.
Hit a big ol' bucket of golf balls at the range yesterday - first time since last October - and "great" because I hit them without pain in my new (December 20th) titanium hip joint.
This week - I will see two first place teams play ... the Pistons tonight with my son and the Red Wings on Thursday with some golfing buddies. Life is GREAT!!!!!

The best thing last week was finishing the final edits for my husband's book and sending it back to the designer for the last time before going to the printer.

For SP -- I did 60-80 mins exercise, 6 days out of 7. Lost a pound and some inches!

My daughter was here for the week with 3 of my grandbabies. I love being with them so much. One night I cooked dinner at my oldest son's house and all 7 of my grandkids and 3 of my 4 children were there. It was a wonderful evening.

Best things are really two, one is my husband finally got this broken piece of a spark plug out of his work van (it has been off the road all winter now!!!) and we got the results back of our radon test and our house tests out okay.

WLP - Hands down ~ FINDING SPARKS I needed something new and fun, and what a fun place this is. I started a strength program now and I just love the animated examples here. The graphs and charts here and the fun of collecting points, it is all so GREAT!!!

The best thing that happened to me this week is that
DD and children came to visit. They spent the night and it is so invigorating and energizing to have children in the house. It doesn't matter how much pain you have or how tired you are, you have to muster up the energy to deal with the high levels of energy they bring with them and it's a good thing.

My best achievment is that I stayed on program and I am seeing the scale go down. I had lost momentum until I found this site but I have it back now. That is also a good thing.

Thanks for the question, Penny.

I guess seeing three of my 7 grandkids. They grow up so fast, they sprout right up in between visits. The oldest was on Spring break from college, and came to spend the afternoon with his "old"grandparents....that's real special to me...He used to spend every other weekend or more with us when he was a tot... How about you???

Best acheivement in WLP was that I walked everyday, and started the Boot Camp Challenge, here on Over 50s.
