I take allegra and singulair everynight, use nasocort and astilin. Spring and fall in the midwest is the worst, that's usually when I get a sinus infection. I've had surgery twice. I'm hoping I don't have to do that again. I used to have extremely sharp shooting pains in my eyes where I would jump when it happened. That's better now. I also take Lexapro from migraines which helps a great deal. I'm beginning to take control again for years I was a sick mess. I also had undiagnosed hypothyroid disease (Hashimoto's). That can cause sinusitis too.

First.. If you even THINK you may have it...get help.ASAP---- I will let you for many people---it can be different. I was grinding my teeth at night and in the morning my jaw would be killing me. I had so many x rays I glow. lol.
I had bad pain-and constant on the right hand side of my face-in the jaw area. Another thing, every morning my face was swollen on that side. I would go through bottles of over the counter pain meds. I would constantly have a song in my head.just to "wish " the pain away.
One Christmas morning I was in so much pain I could not go down to see my little children open gifts. I stayed in bed most of the day. It can be that bad. I hope you dont have tmj.

What were your symptoms for the TMJ trouble?

To give the buts up is such a challange. I am glad you have done it. I know it takes a great effort to quit. If you think it may be TMJ look into it. It took me 3 years and 6 dentists before they said that was what I had. And it was my Root canal dr. who determended that was it. I was able to go to Tufts Dental in Boston. They have a TMJ clinic there. The main DR. teaches all over the world.

Quitting smoking is the best thing you can do for yourself!!!! I had sinus infections/sinusitis for a years. As soon as I quit smoking I don't suffer from that anymore. I haven't smoked for 23 years...

This is what ails me more than my hypothyroid. I also have pressure in my right ear and a feeling of fluid in there. Might be TMJ, I don't know, but I think it's the sinus buildup. It is very irksome. I was taking Walphed, but then my resting heart rate was too high. I take it now every other or every third day, but sometimes I get a pinching in my heart. It's a dilemma. I am 50, lost 7lbs. since January 11 and I am gaining muscle but weight loss is slow. I quit smoking 1/7.
