For the Turkey stuffed cabbage recipe go to the spark Resource Center - it is the tab at the top of the apark home page, just to the right of MY HOME. Select "Recipes" on the upper menu selection of the Resource Center page. Select Poultry on the recipe menu. Scroll down to Turkey Stuffed Cabbage. Spark's recipe uses 1/2 lean ground beef and 1/2 ground turkey. I use all ground turkey. And..instead of water, I use chicken (or turkey) broth. I also spice mine up a bit with curry, pepper seeds, etc. I have been eating my stuffed cabbage all week - every other day at either lunch or diner - just had the last today for lunch. They keep really well in a cold fridge.

Your turkeys in a blanket sound so good, I'm going to borrow that one. Your organization of the food for the day is so sensible, and makes the food so simple, that I have to take that and use it to. Dennisbishop you sure should do well you are so well organized and motivated. Love your posts.

Hi gang, Almost ready to eat diner - warming up some turkeys in a blanket - substituted ground turkey for the ground beef and used brown rice instead of white. Mixed a little chicken broth into some nice marinara sauce, spiced it up... and walla - a meal in a dish! Made them up over the weekend - they keep almost forever in the fridge. I calulate that one (the size of a medium baked potato) is about 150 calories. Between the cabbage bulking you up and the trukey giving length to your appetite (sp?) - they work real well with my spark plan. Best to you all, Oh, and I stretched, and bent and lifted for my exercises while they were in the oven. I just love double tasking! Good night all.

Wow, we have some plan-ahead people here! That is the most important thing.
I lost 2.5 # my first week. I know it will slow down, unless I increase my exercise, but I will take any kind of loss.
Bending those branches....LoL

I'm often left with no choice but to do my cardio in the evening --7 or 8-ish, and I find I have no problem sleeping: bedtime is (hopefully) between 9 and 10. I read a bit in bed and usually fall asleep a few pages later, still holding the book! The exercising encouraged by SP has definitely improved the quality of my sleep!

| Hi Dennis...must say I never do more than a little stretching at night. I don't know one way or the other, but it seems to me serious exercise might make it difficult to sleep?

Well Glen, you have me there. Exercise would be the ultimate alternative to over eating! Bless you! And Willow, bending from thread to thread, yes, I do track my food. I plan ahead for all my breakfasts, since I choose one of four breakfast groups that I know are healthy and the calories are right. My lunch is usually leftovers from the night before - or one of three sandwiches that I know are smart. I plan my three snacks, usually fruit or melon. - So, that leaves diner. If I eat the correct breakfast and lunch all I have to worry about at diner is portion control. There are very few foods on my do not eat list (pizza, fried chicken, fast food cheese burgers and fries ) After all, this is not a deprivation program. It is the use of healthy options and alternatives. Butrflyann - the sour dough pretzels are close to 100 calories, same as an apple or banana - and I only use them for what I call a "carb attack". You guys are my heros! keep the spark!!

| I don't use the spark menu but do up my own every morning so I know what I'm eating is within my limit. I always plan on a bit of something for a late night snack. Those big pretzels are a good idea. I'll have to look into them.

| Yes, we must plan those snacks. Do you do the food tracking, print the menu out. Then you know what to save for after dinner. That is my munchie time also. Last nite I had some almonds and raisins. PLAN AHEAD...

You are always an inspiration, DennisB. Nah, I'm not hungry, just restless! That is why I think a bit of exercise is probably the thing, just to switch the mood. Speaking of...I'd better get to it!
Thanks for the support.

Well Glen, You are at the right spot, posting and reading. This is a great place to come to when you are bored. Not that this is a night club.... but .... it gives you a release to state your concern and see what comes back. I usually am OK with nights. I plan for a snack after diner - but within 90 min. of diner. Then I have a back-up --- like some cut up celery or carrots, and if a real hunger persists then I grab a hard, sourdough pretzel - the carbs in the pretzel usually take care of the hunger. But you are right not to eat out of boredom - but DO eat if you are hungry. Good luck and keep up the spark!

Those after dinner hours seem tough sometimes, don't they? How are you doing tonight? I'm doing okay but temptation is right around the corner...TV is boring as all get out, can't settle in to my book. I guess I've learned I eat out of boredom at night. Okay, take a deep breath, do a few stretching exercises, get a glass of water, and "no empty calories!"
Anyone else have a tough time at night?
