I live in the Okanogan valley of WA state. This winter has been long, but I am glad we are finallly have a "real winter" because it is good for everything. I love spring, and I can't wait until it gets here, but I don't want it to get too dry this summer. (by the way, I'm not over 50, but I did a search on "Okanogan" to see if I could find someone local to talk to.

Mmmm! Cherry tomatoes! I love them. I try to keep some in a bowl next to my sink and pop one in my mouth wheneve I am at the sink. Tomatoes are sooooo good for you. I can't grow them though! I'll just have to buy them at the the store.

Fellow tomato gardeners...I just grow a couple of tomato plants also. I had the cherry Tomatoes by my deck last year, and they were so good, not many of them made it into the house...LOL. I am going to pop some veggies in amongst my perrinials this year, if the rabbits will let me. I want to get some of the low acid yellow tomatoes, yummy.

I usually have a few tomatos by the deck also. I did order a couple of years ago 3 thornless blackberry plants, planted them along the fence. Last year I got about 2 gallons of blackberries off them. They are starting to get buds.

I am not a very good gardener - for vegtables anyway.
The only thing I can grow are Tomatoes - right next to our wood deck out back.
I am pretty decent with potted annuals though. I have them hanging from my eave, on posts, on our deck rail, on the front porch - all over the place. I love being surrounded by blooming flowers.

Beautiful Spring day here. The sun is bright, but will rain later. I took a long walk this morning, and it is melting and 50 degrees here. Haven't seen that for awhile.

I got on the scales, and have lost 2 more #s. I won't officially weigh in until next Monday, but I like to keep track daily. It helps me stay focused. I am eating larger meals than I ever have!!

I would be happy if it stayed around 70 degrees all of the time. I don't like it hot or cold!! Give me Spring anytime or early Summer.

Best day yet as far as weather has been this past week.
The weatherman says that by this time next week we will be in the mid 50's - first time since last fall -- could it really be that far away. I'm getting out my golf clubs and cleaning them up!

Hi Lenii......I think I've gone to a daycare conference in Whitewater and have gone to a couple of them in Madison.

The kids do keep me hopping (you'd think you couldn't gain weight with them, wouldn't you? lol) but they are so precious and just feel like more grandchildren to me.

I'm ready for those outdoor days. I don't mind the snow a lot but by this time in the year I'm ready too.

........Make it a great day......kath

Forgot to say that the company that I work for is involved the the construction of the Conn. Post Mall expansion in Milford. Near you? We are construction managers and are assisting with the construction of the new Showcase Cinema DeLux at the mall. Everything should be open late next week.

Karen, from CT
I too am losing weight. This morning was my weigh-in for the week and I am down a pound - that makes four pounds in the last three weeks after hitting a two week wall. But then, weight loss is the secondary reslut of the lifestyle we have now adopted. Was not able to do my morning walk the past two days due to the after affects of an ice storm early Thursday morning - ice on the sidewalks. But this morning was different. Most of the ice melted the sun was shinning and the sky was a beautiful blue. I was able to get in 2.5 miles in my fifty minute walk. Will do 2 to 3 more miles tomorrow morninig to give my self a good start for my first week in stage 3 of this plan.
Yes, life is good.

Dennis--

That is great!! I too have just gotten to stage 3, and almost can't believe the changes in my life due to SparkPeople! I eat right, I'm exercising, I'm drinking decaf coffee, have had no wine in almost two months-- not sure how all that happened, but I'm delighted!!!

Karen

I have a GREAT week going! I feel very comfortable with the spark program - been 8 weeks or so. I am keeping my calorie count in line, taking measured, pre-cooked (left overs) lunches to work, have developed a standard for breakfast - one of four controled and healthy meals, plan my diners the night before, able to make intelligent decisions when out at restaurants. It is becomming second nature - well, almost. I am sure it will be the norm in time. I have tracked my exercise over the past 5 weeks and I am hitting my goals - ready for stage 3!

Not a bad winter, but now it's time to move on, right??? I tend to eat lighter in the warm weather.

I'm in east Texas. We've had one week of bad weather. Seems like spring and summer since last summer. allergies are rapid down here, and everyone is sooo sick.
I am a cold weather person--well 40's and 50's. If you call that cold.
Yesterday it was 83 degrees. I'm just not ready for those temps right now.
