Hi Hilde
I had my thyroid removed when I was 23. I have been taking thyroid replacement meds ever since. I put on weight in each of my 3 pregnancys without ever taking it off. So...I am faced with doing it now! I know I have the right attitude. I just hope I have the self discipline. I joined a week ago and did lose 10 pounds my first week. So...I am motivated right now. I am finding portion control challenging too...I am trying to "listen" to my body and stop when I am full.
Hang in there. Think about what you are eating and how much. I like the idea being able to eat everything I like, just eating less. That means I will get to have a piece of pizza one of these days!!! Hooray!
You can do it...it's a lifestyle change for the better! We can do it!

Doesnt it seem crazy sometimes when you do think about it. That in our age we are still dieting . I am going to just start looking at like eating healthy from now on. So I figure when you eat healthy you loose weight on your own. Especially when you are a slow looser like myself. I had a underactive thyroid since I was 28 year old. Took medicines for a while. Then my dr. retired and never took anymore. They tell me now that doesnt mix with blood thinners. So I just have fight it myself. Hope everyone else is doing good. I have trouble with portion control. So tonight is the first night I am going to start using smaller plates. So we will see how that works. Hope to hear from all you soon. Hilde
