Diana, hope that you are feeling better. Maybe you can try not to take on so much in future - I realise that you are committed to this wedding, but maybe you can take on less in the future?
Hang on in there (as they say!). I should always be able to remember your birthday!!
Keep well,
Jackie

Karen - what a fun time you're going thru now - I envy you!! It sounds like your daughter is letting you be involved in a lot of the planning. All the preparations are so much a part of the wedding and need to be enjoyed too, 'cos the day itself goes by so quickly. Our 2nd wedding in October is really going to be done by remote control!! DD and hubby to be live in England. She choose her dress on my other daughter's wedding day and all fittings will be done when she comes home about 3 weeks before her wedding. She is actually coming home a few days earlier than she planned as one of her friends are also getting married. The venue has been booked since December when they were here for another friend's wedding!!! They plan their trips here around weddings!! There's only a couple of weeks between your wedding and mine!
Have you started looking for anything to wear yet? I'm going to wait until about 6 weeks beforehand - that's what I did for the first wedding and it was good as I had lost weight by then. I'm hoping to go down another size for October.
I have to go now, be back later!!!

good morning all!
sorry to hear how stressed out you are, diana. this should be a happy time for you, but you have too much going on! i wish i could help!
so far my daughters wedding details are coming along pretty good....of course she seems to be in slow gear, and i am in high gear! we are going shopping saturday, for all the little things..like the unity candle, knife and server, that sort of thing. the wedding is oct 7th, but then there are your usual summer things getting in the way of getting things done. so we grab a weekend here and there to do things.
we are also making the wedding invites on our computer, so that is a very slow process.
i am having fun doing all this, maybe because i am not torn in all different directions, like alot of you are. i dont know how you do it! sometimes when i read the posts, i get exhausted just reading them!
then i want to jump in and help!
well, all have a great day, talk to you later

Hi Kali, I think that I know how you feel. Our second wedding is also 4 months away (26 Oct) and I can't start to think about it yet. But, if I have understood correctly from you, then both of us have the "harder" wedding behind us - these 2nd weddings
should be easier on us - there's not so much to arrange. I now have to get back to my regular routine, especially as far as dieting and excercise goes. However, I am finding it hard, especially with the fact that dh is going away next week to Nigeria for his new job.
Anyway, I have to go now - he needs the computer!!
Anwyay, that wont happen after he goes!!! No time for sparkplugs tonight! I can't seem to get there!
Bye for now,
Jackie

Dear Jackie, This coming week will be a killer. So don't be upset if you don't hear much from me. Ok, This goes for everybody, I will be thinking of all of you, but I can't promise. I will miss everything hear but I will catch up.[maybe] Today was just the most difficult I have had in a while, things involved my parents and my aunt and uncle [alzhiemers] They live next door to my parents. Soemtime I will tell you about today, not now though I would just get upset again and I don't need that with my own problems.
Jackie I have personally had 4 colonoscopies, I have also had a scope down the throat and into my stomac. My husband has also had several colonoscopies, the problem this time is that he has been having symtoms of colon cancer, he stayed home 2 days this week feeling ill. I want to thank all of you for your good thoughts, I really appreciate it more than I can express. Talk to you all later. Your Sparks friend. Diana Oh, please do not, I repeat do not open any E-mail that says "invitation" there is a horrible virus that some bad people are sending that will distroy our computers!!!!!! and possibly take our information from our computers, so DO NOT OPEN ANYTHING THAT HAS THE WORD "INVITATION" ON IT DELETE IT IMMEDIATELY Pass this to all friends and family please!!!

Hi everybody. Been occupied with having my mother here this past week - no time to go online.
Diana - please take it easy (I know that that is easier said than done). I have had a colonscopia done a couple of times as my father had cancer too. Its not pleasant but its not too bad either as they give you valium or something, which makes the whole proceedure easier. The preparation for it is probably the hardest part of it. I hope that everything goes ok for your hubby.
As to my hubby, well it does seem as though he will be going to Nigeria!! Its all moving forward very quickly and he is probably going to be there by the beginning of July!
Once again, look after yourself - and just remember that we are here when you need us.
Jackie

Diana,
It's good to hear from you and I sure understand why we haven't heard much. You're doing enough to keep three women busy! Please just remember to take care of yourself and your hubby while you're getting all your jobs done.

I'm sure the wedding will be wonderful -- please don't worry about us. We'll be here when you get back and we'll want details!

Until then, you're in my thoughts and prayers.

Karen Thanks for the reply. I am trying to pace myself. For instance last night instead of trying to prepare somethings ahead, for other things, I was asked to stay at our church and accompany, and play for the talent show, I don't know why but knowbody said anything during announcements at church on Sunday. So since the entire evening would have been a disaster if I wouldn't have stayed. I just have difficulties right now. I'm leaning on my friends for prayer support right now, as God is the only one who can help me get though this time. Diana

Diana: i am so sorry, for all you are going thru! how the heck do you keep up???!!! i was exhausted just reading about everything you have to do! i wish there were something i could do to pitch in and help you!
Please take care of yourself, as you are rushing around trying to get everything together....it seems as women, when we are going in all different directions at once, we kinda neglect ourselves. PLEASE DONT! try to take a 10 minute time out for yourself.
Keep us informed, as you go along, if you can.
Karen

Jackie, Hi, how are you? If you read what I just posted to Kali I hope that you will understand. I thought that I was busy when I was getting ready for my daughters wedding, I really think that I am busier by far. Also very worried about my husband. Has your husband found out anything about the job offers. I am keeping this in my prayers. Have you been able to recoperate? I may be in and out over the next couple of weeks. I really do not know what is going to take place with myself either. My problem is easier for me to handle than my husband and my parents problems. Talk to you later Jackie, Diana
Karen, Hi, I hope that you are doing well also. Talk to you all later. Diana

Kali, Hi, its Diana things are just getting very busy, I have been trying to get all the test results of all the different tests to take to the new specialist on Monday, our 4-H horse club [I'm a leader] is having a horse show on Sat. my cousins daughter is getting married Sat. afternoon. Monday dr appointment, m-f vacation bible school, [I'm doing the music] The wedding that I was asked to do the flowers and decorating, and music over a year ago is right upon me a week from sat. I have to do the flowers somehow with VBS going on at the church. That Sunday my husband and I are hosting our family reunion, oh I designed and printed out invites this past week. I had to get all the arragements made. Then on Monday June 26, my husband will be seeing the surgeon about his colonoscopy [I'm sure this will be the first order of business] his mother has had several bouts of colon cancer, also has a tumor on the brain. Her mother died from cancer, so I am very conserned, [more worried about him than my own paralized stomac issue]. Well I guess right now I need to lean on God all mighty. Also, I haven't been sent any e-mails saying there are posts on this thread. I thought that this was strange so I got into the sight and low and behold you all have been posting. I just need to get in and see, even if I don't recieve notice like I usually do. Take care, your spark buddy, Diana

I travel a lot for work and for play (lots of dog shows) and I always pack a book and a magazine. I like to read and that way I have something engrossing and time-consuming to read and also something to spend a few minutes with if need be.

I also do a lot of meditation and stretches on the road. Keeps me relaxed.

Karen - well done on your weight loss. That's really good.
I was on a high after the wedding and couldn't sleep and I knew that you'd all be wanting to hear from me, which is why I posted. I wasn't the only one who couldn't sleep afterwards. I wasn't even tired the next day - not like me at all! So, if you're going to be at a hotel (which sounds like a great idea) take a book or something to unwind with! Enjoy the build up to the wedding, because the wedding itself goes by so quickly!
Words of experience from a recent "mother of the bride"!!

Sopepia - well done on the weight loss - you're off to a good start.
Kali - thanks for the complement, I also think that I have shape to my arms - flab!!!!
I'm not able to get back into routine as my mother is here until next Saturday. I'm putting on weight at the moment instead of loosing it. Once it goes back on, its takes me so long to loose it again. I'm just going to try harder this week, I suppose.

Sopepia, I was overweight in my first daughter's wedding pictures in March. That's what started my SparkPeople adventure. The next wedding is in September and I will look a lot different then. I'm already down over 20 pounds and I don't plan to stop... until I reach my goal.

Welcome and congratulations on the wedding!

Hi everyone! I'm pleased that you all enjoyed my post after the wedding! I have since re-read it but haven't edited it as its good for a laugh!!

I have now posted some photos on my sparkpage and in the photo gallery. I'm hoping that the professional photos will be better as Lee was far more beautiful on the day that can be seen in the pictures. But we are going to have to wait about a month for them.

Been busy ever since with guests, but we have had a really awesome time. The wedding was so successful, it was perfect in every way! Even the weather was perfect. No snow storms for us Kali!

However, Lee & Noam did have an unusual wedding night! They had booked into a nearby hotel. My husband happens to know the owners and told them that his daughter was spending her wedding night there & he promised dh that they would have the honeymoon suite plus VIP treatment. Anyway, they booked in at about 3am and when they tried to get into the room - there was another couple in the bed!!!!!!!!!! When I heard about this, I asked my husband - what sort of VIP treatment is this? - giving the newly weds a foursome on their wedding night!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway, they were so tired that they didn't really complain and asked for another room. By this time it was 4am. They put the "do not disturb" sign outside the door. At 10am, the maids starting knocking on their door. When they didn't answer, the maid entered and said that she had to clean the room! It didn't matter to her that they were there - that room was on her list to clean!!! They are now thinking of sueing the hotel!

Sopepia - welcome to the crazy mothers of the bride!!
This is the place to be and I'm sure that you'll loose weight here. I have another wedding on Oct 26th - I'm hoping to loose another 17 lbs or so by then - however I've probably put on quite a bit of weight over these past few days - so next week its back to reality! So we are all in this together.
Good luck
Jackie

I, too, have a daughter getting married...on July 8.
I am planning for a ten pound loss by then. I have lost
3 since finding Sparkpeople 8 days ago. I only wish I
had known about this site earlier. It has been a life saver for me. I know I will be over weight in the pictures. But, that is who I am right now. Next year this time, I hope to have all the excess gone. Let's all just keep trying.
