| Dear Kiki and all, I think that we all need to help each other through the week to come, whether it be passover or Easter, we all have our trying times ahead. I wish you all a very Happy Easter and a wonderful passover. Diana Good Luck to all remember we can do it!
|
|
|
|
| Jackie, do I wish you a happy Passover?? Like the Jewish people, Italians are the same - it is all about the food. I hae been baking Easter bread and planning for Easter dinner - so hard when one is trying not to eat all this good stuff. You will drop those pounds - worry about that after the holidays are over.

|
| DEAr Jackiev, As a Christian I guess I'm lucky as we celebrate just the one day, and even that is difficult, the whole week. I have a Jewish friend that has this same difficulty. Just remember you can do it, take one step at a time. Diana p.s. good luck.

Diana - that happens to me too - I find that sometimes I don't see messages that have been posted and assume that no one has written anything.
Hi Kali - its good to hear of someone else with 2 weddings in the same year! Its wonderful - but rather stressful at the same time! I have still got just under 2 months until the first (June 8th). However, I did put on weight while I was in England - about 3.5 lbs - which may not sound too bad, but I worked so hard to get that weight off. I have been back since Sunday & haven't been able to get myself back into a routine. I have been so tired and hungrey for some reason! Anyway, today I did manage to get up this morning and exercised for the first time. My other biggest fear now is that today is the start of the Jewish Passover holidays which last a week. And its all around food!! Lovely, fattening food! I am really going to try and be good - because I will just put it all back on again. I am going to make sure that I track all my food and try to exercise more than usual - hopefully that will keep me in line! Congrats too to all of you with weddings this month. Jackie

I also recieved a E-mail saying that there have been new posts, I also had a hard time getting into the sites, Is this happening with the rest of you? Diana

Hi everyone. DD and I had a wonderful weekend. The visit with DS and GS made me very happy. GS is getting so tall. I'm sure that by next year this time he will be as tall as I. He is only 9 and I am only 5'1". Yes, Diana I did pay for lunch, but DS treated us to a treat from Dairy Queen later in the afternoon when we were exhausted from the walking and the shopping. We'll get to visit with them again at the reception and that is only 3 weeks away.

| Dear Carolyn, Sounds like they need the time as much as you do. Maybe this will allow you to enjoy all of your other events a bit more. Diana

| Dear Kiki, No I am not going to monopolize the site. All your table plans sound very pretty. How did the spa go? And how did your hubby weather things without you? How was your son? Did you get stuck with the bill? Diana

| Dear Nancy, Everything sounds beautiful. I just got the coupon from my parents newspaper. Great buys. It's a good feeling that your dress is a bit to big, but your right, you will probably lose a few more pounds before July, I know that last year I did and I was swimming in my dress, so after several ajustments, it still was to big. Sometimes when they measure you and the size is bigger then you normally wear be careful because it probably is to big. Diana

Diana, The wedding will probably be when her boyfriend has a job. I am glad it was postponed. It will give them more time. Also less difficult if it is next year. Next year the calendar will not be as busy.

Nancy, your decorations sound beautiful. My daughter had a beach wedding so the theme is seashells, beach sand etc. I even have a silk palm tree to put on the sweets table.
Her wedding cake will have large shells around it, otherwise very plain. Oh, I think there will be real flowers on the top also. I can't remember - too many details.
Keep the dress that is a little tight, by July it will fit. What a great goal.
Good luck with all your arrangements.

We are working on reception table decorations also. My daughter bought rectangular vases which will have real rosesin them. These will be on a mirror with votive candles around it. I think that will be it. My daughter likes it "simple" which is fine, but I want to make sure it looks good.
We are also working on flowers for the cake. We decided we would do silk for the top and down the side ourselves. I bought silk roses yesterday to begin. If my daughter likes them, we may get them put together this week. I would like to accomplish something this week while I am on vacation.
I have my dress, but I am unsure about it. I tried it on yesterday and I feel that it is too big. That is a good thing, but I tried on the smaller size when I bought it, and it was too tight. I either have this one altered, find another dress, or buy the smaller size KNOWING that I AM going to loose more weight before July 22. I am going shopping with my mom for her dress tomorrow so I can look more also.
If you have Michael's stores in your area, they have 50% off coupons good on certain days right now. They also have many things for weddings on sale. I got everything I bought yesterday for 50% off. NancyK

Good morning everyone. Hope you all had a great weekend. DD and I spent the weekend away, shopping. We bought everything we needed to complete the centerpieces for the dinner tables. Clear glass pedestal bowls, hexagon shaped (rented these) filled with blue and beige sand and topped with orange sea glass and seashells. We will add water and floater candles. Around the stem of the bowl we will wrap matching wire-edged ribbon and glue a seashell on the ribbon. It sounds like it will look great, but will know better after we do one up. Only 3 weeks 'til reception. We have the countdown on. I still have a little baking to do.

Hey Jackie, two wedding in one year -- that's me too! So glad your Mom's operation went well. And don't worry about taking a little vacation from eating healthy. As long as you get right back on track, that's what's important. And you did go to the gym. That's a good thing.

Hi everyone - just arrived back from England! My mother's operation went fine and in fact she was feeling better than I had expected afterwards. I had a great weekend there, last week, as I spent time with my daughter and hubby to be. We went shopping and even managed to get to see a show - The Producers. However, I really didn't do too well with the diet - will wiegh myself tomorrow morning to see how much damage has been done. I did walk a lot while I was there, and even went to the gym once with my daughter. So I'm hoping that I wont be too upset when I see the scales! One of the best things was that everyone I met said how much wieght I have lost! LOL, Jackie

I was the Mother of the Bride on March 11th. The photos are the reason I'm here. My other daughter is getting married on September 23rd and I will NOT look like this when that day comes!
To anyone in this same boat, be strong and work hard. I can do it and I know you can too!

| Dear AuntBee, Sounds as though you have an exciting year also, but the constant change of date of the wedding must be very difficult for you. I haven't checked your profile out yet but I will, I din't understant just how to do it before now. Diana p.s. hang in there o.k.

| Dear Carol, Wow, sounds like you have a great big year. It is probably going to work out better that your daughters wedding is later, at least for you. Do you know the date yet? Diana

| Dear Jackie, I was trying to figure out if you were going to London, this weekend or last. London wow, this sounds like great fun, and with your daughter. Lucky you. Have fun!!! Diana

hi Aunt Bee, My daughter changed her wedding this week. She was afraid to tell me about the change. Fortunately it is later. I just don't know when. My other daughter is graduating from high school. I know that date is not changing. My parents 55th wedding anniversary is later this year too. An exciting year.

My daughter has changed her wedding date so many times. I am not sure what is happening. She is the First dark haired gal on the left in the picture.
My other daughter is having a baby in July or August.
The blond is my sister daughter. Aunt Bee

| Dear KRGMCANDREW, I just was told on another site that I should check out profiles, and how to do it, I'm sure by now that you realize that I am computer challenged. I haven't filled out a profile, I don't really know how, maybe I will figure it out. How's your program going? Have you lost any weight, I was weighed and measured today and I am happy to say that I dropped 2 1/4 lbs, and lost 1 inch, and lowered my BMI. I am exstatic as it is very difficult for me to lose, even working out daily, and a very strick diabetic diet. This incrament took me 1 1/2 months to occomplish. Are you a mother of the Bride? When is the wedding? do you have your dress? How are your plans coming along? I'm thinking that you started this site, am I correct? What kind of exercise program are you following? I wish you and all others on this site the best. Thanks! Diana

| Have a great weekend everyone. I am gone away with my daughter for a few days. Back on Sunday. Talk to you then.

| Kiki, I never wanted to monopolize this thread either,[sorry everyone] I have written to others but just a couple people have written back. Maybe its because I was the Mother of the Bride? It already happened? I just feel like I've known you all my life. I do like to talk to others also. Diana Have fun

| KRGMCANDREW, Hi I just started down at some of the past posts, it sounds like your wedding is very expensive. I would have to save a long time to pay for all of the plates, I bet your wedding is going to be beautiful. I never did ask what color your dress is. It sounds like your wedding is maybe out of town? When is your date? Diana

| Hey Diana, we seem to be monopolizing this thread. Didn't mean to. To everyone here, have a great weekend.

| Dear Kiki, HAVE FUN!!!! I know what you mean about quality time. It seems as though my daughter and I never get together, just the 2 of us. I miss it. Diana p.s. I haven't been ignoring the rest of you out there. I do read everyones posts. And I enjoy them all. Hope everyones weddings are coming along fine. Last year at this time, I won't have had time to even post to anyone. Keep working on your health ladies, which if you do you more than likely will lose those extra lbs. But most important of all is you feel the best you can then you will look fantastic and enjoy the day. Diana

Diana, you better take care of yourself. There are times when you have to be a little selfish with your time. We women seem to think that the world won't revolve without us, but you know what, it does.
DD and I are looking forward to the weekend, we haven't spent any real quality time together since about November and we need it. She is such fun to be around. Can't wait to se | |
