My workplace has a free join for Curves for the whole year so I will check them out and see if I can do a week free or at the very least have a look and see what I think of the equipment. Up at 5.30 this morning and walked 22 minutes on my treadmill - that's a start, albeit a small one.

Once I actually get to Curves, it's fun. (Me? saying exercise is FUN???? ) It is NEVER boring because once you start, you keep going from area to area - 30 seconds on each machine, I think it is... -
Everyone does the same workout, takes 30 minutes for me to complete 2 circuits. I'd recommend joining...I think AVON is having a free-2-week trial thing going on right now - if not, I do think Curves will give you a free week to see what it is like.
Let me know if you do go to a Curves and check it out, ok?

My favorite thing to do is Leslie Sansone Walk away the pounds. She is very motivational and it is easy to do. My problem has always been getting started. Once I start I love how I feel when I exercise, the extra enegry and even the strength. So this time I have decided to join so that I will have extra encouragement and support.

I was thinking of joining Curves myself. Do you like it once you get there or do you find it boring. Can someone help me make up my mind about joining. What is everyone else doing to get fit? I have a treadmill which I promise I will use tomorrow but I usually have an excuse, like it's too hot, I'm too tired, but I need to get moving on it.

Hi all of you over 50, I'm there with you (58). I just want to say, and you have probably noticed, that it is much harder to lose weight as you age. Don't get impatient. And the most important thing is to exercise. I don't care if you have aches, pains, etc. you must exercise. I eat very healthy, but the only way I can lose is to exercise. Hope you all do well.

Hi I am new to this site but determined to lose 50 pounds. I am 51 and like you, I look in the mirror and say how did I get here so quickly. I want to live many more years (my grandmother lived to be 97) and I know that in order to do that I have to get healthy and take care of myself (something I have been neglecting) So hopefully I am on the right track. I am inspired by people who make a determination to improve themselves. And I am making a commitment to do the same. Good luck with your efforts

Well I am not almost 58, I actually arrived on 29th December. It is not as scarey as you would think!! I still feel like the same person even though the big 60 is getting so..... close. How could I possibly be that old. But here I am and by the time I get to that number I want to be fit, lean, trim and fabulous. Age is just a number and it doesn't make you who you are. We can still be young in spirit and have lots of life left to live.

I feel as tho I've been 57 for about 57 years! That's probably because someone asked me last summer how old I was and I replied....58! Then had to think ... and realized I wasn't! duh......
I'll be 58 in April and would like to lose at least 15 pounds by then, so I'll be trying hard! Wish me luck! (and keep me on track! lol)
