Hey, Michellemi-
It's only been a week but so far i think this is an awesome place to get better at being accountable. I really have done well with entering my foods since starting here. If i promised myself to write them down it just didn't happen. If you are anything like me then a few days of doing things right will get you on the right track because NOT failing feels so good after just doing the opposite for so long.
Best wishes and hang in there. You are worth the time and effort it takes to commit to SP and get this weight off. You will be taking those stairs two at a time sooner than you think!! Good luck and God Bless....

MICHELLEMI ~ Welcome to the
Woulda - Coulda - Shoulda Group!
Seems that we are are in the same boat!
I hate exercise too! Begrudgly I push my self out the door. Once I hav done that I enjoy walking and sleep a whole lot better. I think it is best to take little steps in the Exercise Department, you don't want to burn out before you get started!

We sound like too of a kind, I am 5 years older than you.

Killing our self slowly......Not taking care of our self.

That has to change, keeping a good mental attitude is not always easy, but it can be done with practice. One day at a time.
I have been stuck, in the house most of three months. Lack of walking est, I am getting weak again. I hate to exercise, no fun doing it all alone.

Welcome to SparkPeople. This is a good place to start making changes that will help you feel better and maybe even lose some pounds while you are at it. Keep coming back. There is always someone with a work of encouragement. Best wishes.

hugs,

I just joined. I'm 55 and weigh 130 more than I weighed in college--exactly double. So I don't know which forum to go to--but if I lose 90 pounds, I'd be HAPPY! I've been in weight watchers for 3 years, but I cheated a LOT. That was at the job I lost in September. I've just been depression eating since then, so I really don't know what I weigh now. I learned a lot, but I didn't work it very well. I want very much to not hurt going up stairs and get out of breath doing small things any more. I'm tall so this is new, the side effects. I have a history of hurting myself in not-too-obvious ways, like not exercising, eating too much, not taking my vitamins, not drinking water, eating chocolate for breakfast and all sorts of self-destructive behaviors. I'm never accountable to myself. I (what?) hope this is something I can do better than what I've done previously. I'll record my food & exercise here and read articles. Is there anything else I should know about?
