If you weren't commenting about the recipe, that's probably the reason your comment was deleted. If you don't think a comment is useful enough you can ignore it and check out the others. We do encourage users to leave more detailed comments and hope that's what you find more often than not.

I posted a review of a recipe that included a comment that people shouldn't leave rankings without making the recipe. People were giving 5-star rankings because the recipe "sounds great". This happens a lot. I see that the review was deleted, I assume because of my admonition. Instead of censoring my review, shouldn't this issue be addressed? How can users rely on reviews and rankings as a guide (taste, ease of preparation, etc,) this way?
