Hi Lisa,
My understanding is that unless they are ground you don't receive the nutritional value. Our body doesn't digest them they simply pass through your system intact.

| Are you supposed to grind the flax seeds? I just dump them into my yogurt as is.

Thanks for the input! Sounds like a coffee grinder is the method of choice! I'll have to reseach which one would be the best.
As for cleaning the coffee bean oil .. have you tried running white rice through it? That's how my SIL cleans her's.
Thanks again guys!

| Coffee grinder, too! You may want to get a separate grinder for seeds and nuts. I use my coffee grinder so much that it always has coffee bean oil no matter how much you clean it...

| I too use a coffee grinder. If I am adding it to yogurt, I leave it a little coarser. If I am adding it to a small glass of juice, I grind it really fine, mix it in the juice and gulp it down

Hi..
I'd love to incorporate flax seed in my diet. So I bought some from the grocery store today. Going by what I've read here I bought the actual seeds. Now I have to figure out the best way to grind them to get the maximum health benefits.
So what's the best method ... spice/pepper mill? Coffee grinder? Hammer or mallet? LOL Would you mind telling me what you use to grind yours? I'd appreciate any information including make and model of what you use. Or any pro's or con's about the method you use. Thanks!
