| Hello, I have a question about the vacuum food saver. Is it very expensive for the plastic bag or storage jars. I have wanted to get one but was fearful of the added expense for the bags. All have a good day.

| If you get a machine with an Instant Seal feature, practice with it to get used to it. Each machine is different, so you have to just get used to when to hit the button.

| I hadn't heard of Instant Seal... I'll have to look into that. I like to make soups, chili and my own marinara and portion it out.

I bought the 39.00 Rival Seal a Meal at WalMart after being impressed with a friends. I love it! I was a bit hesitant because I was afraid it would be cheap and not work well. I was wrong!
This one works just as well at the expensive Food Saver that my Dad spent 200.00 on.

| I have a Food Saver and really like it. I've used it a lot and have never had a problem with it. I made sure to get one with an Instant Seal that way I could vacuum seal pretty much anything I wanted, including soup! I would highly recommend getting one with the Instant Seal feature. I saw one on their website for about $70.

| I'm starting to practice portion control and I think that splitting my weekly meals into individual portions would help me alot! I've always used zip top baggies or reusable plastic containers for food storage in the fridge or freezer, but all of the air never gets out of there and it doesn't taste as fresh a few days later. I've begun researching those units that suck all the air out creating a vacuum seal and there are just too many options! We're just a family of 2 (right now) so some industrial strength unit isn't necessary. Does anyone have a favorite, or have tried one and can help me out here? Thanks!
