I too use the ground flaxseed and utilize it in smoothies, in yogurt, with yogurt & chopped apples, meat loaf, spaghetti sauce, really pretty much anything. My family is also getting the benefits and no one has even noticed a taste difference. Personally I prefer flax to a synthetic fiber.

hello Lena, about fiber Sure ? I use it in my morning coffee or anytime of day coffee, 1 Tbsp. in a cup of coffee. I also sprinkle it on my evening meal. I use it on everything. It has NO taste so you never know it's there. Also; i use it in anything i bake. It works great for me & if you were to have unexpected company pop in, they can eat whatever you have & it won't hurt them. I never bother telling my company that it's in whatever i have for that meal.
Continue to experiment with it, as how much you will use in what ever you are cooking or baking.
Have a great day & hope this helps.

I buy my bags of flax with the whole seeds and then use my Magic bullet to grind about a cup of seeds at a time. I put the open bag of whole seeds in a ziplock in the freezer to stay fresh and the ground seeds in a dark coloured bottle in the fridge.

Flax can't really be digested whole and will come out looking pretty much like it did going in if not ground up. It is very versatile and can be used a lot of ways:

-sprinkle over yogurt or cold cereal
-use it as 1/4 of the breading mix to coat meats
-add a tbsp or so to a smoothie or shake
-add to recipes for breads, cookies or muffins
-use a Tbsp of ground flax and add 1/8 cup boiling water and let sit. It makes a gelatin type mass that can be used instead of eggs to bind meatballs or use in baked goods
-add dry to meat loaves or balls instead of part of the breadcrumbs
-add to cooked cereals like oatmeal either before cooking or as a topping

It is nice because it doesn't have a strong taste and you have the option to cook it to a jelly or eat it as a dry crumble. Grinding yourself means you can decide how powdery or chunky you want it. I use it in a lot of things.

I don't think I'd every take a fibre supplement. I like to eat too much. I choose whole grain breads, aim for 10 servings of fruit and veg each day and eat some nice whole grain, high fibre cereals (Kashi and Nature's Path have some nice ones 6+ grams of fibre per serving).

Lately I find I have beat the afternoon munchies by having a bowl of cereal and low fat soy milk in the afternoon and I don't raid the fridge and pantry for bad stuff after that. It satisfies my hunger but is also crunchy enough that it satisfies my need to move my jaws.

Beans and legumes also pack a nice fibre punch and I use soy milk as well and that has a fibre component. Try some new foods and you might like them!

Hello all!! I am new and was wondering if anyone heard about using FiberSure and Flax Seed with their diets? I just started using fiber Sure last Friday and think? it's working. I do well till supper, then get super hungry. Right now I am only using 1 tsp at breakfast time. Haven't tried the flax seed yet. I don't know what type to get...ground...oil...capsules..or just the seed?
Thanks for your help...

Lena
