One portion of green leaf (lettuce, spinach, etc) is 1 cup. You may want to make a salad with more than 1 cup of lettuce. Portion control is based on your daily caloric needs; if 5 portions of lettuce can fit in your daily menu, go for it.

I suppose it is the dressing, meat, cheese and anything else we are use to piling up on top of it. I had a salad and mixed veggies today and logged one serving and the calorie count was 15, I suppose I could eat three cups if I wanted to of that. ha but I had a small chicken breast on top. But I had fat free dressing. So my lunch was ok. I am finding the better I eat the better I feel

i thought salad was unlimited?? i was reading about portion control tonite and for salad it said one cup??? ONE CUP??? when i decide to have a salad i have a BIG BOWL.....IS THIS NOT GOOD???
