Hi May, welcome to the team. The best thing for me is hot water. Also, stretching. The Dr says I have to keep moving regardless of the pain. Stretching keeps the muscles from atrophying. Best of luck. emoticon

Hi and welcome to the team. You might want to talk to your doctor about seeing a physical therapist to help you get moving again and they can tell you how to do it and what you are able to do too. emoticon emoticon

My YMCA has a under water tread mill that I run on but it also has a swim against the current jet. Several of our serious exercisers put on wrist and ankle water weights and jog against the current. It's a great work out

Action is for today if you want results tomorrow.
My goal is a daily action and I strive for it to be a positive one. Suzanne

Welcome to the team! I will put in a vote for exercising in the water also. I do a lot of my strength training there also, as I use the resistance bands in the water.

Water treading or walking would be great for you. I do that and I also do regular exercises but I do them in a chair or in bed. Isometric is good for muscle tone, where you tighten and release targeted muscles or push for resistance against a wall or chair. And some yoga is set up to be done in a chair.

Action is for today if you want results tomorrow.

Hi, my name is May. I have chronic pain and I am very limited in the things that I can do. I have stenosis in my lower spine and a cyst. My entire back hurts all the time. I also have neck and foot pain. I do like flowers and gardening and do as much of this as I can. I would be interested in any kind of exercises that I might be able to do. It has been my experience that the more I move the stiffer I get. Any suggestions?
