Thank you dear Nita---I too am looking forward to your wonderful comments!!!My blogs are very random according my Sayali---she faithfully reads them to tease me about them later!!!However blogs are supposed to be random---they're not essays so I just laugh with her.The fact that she reads each and every single one is compliment enough!!!! Look after the Sinus--I too suffered from it recently---the pain can be truly hellish---the head,eyes and teeth all ache terribly!!!
My hubby loves it here despite the snow...still 3 ft. of it on the grounds due to below freezing temperatures at night and even when the sun is up! I have a severe sinus infection with whole nine yards - bloody eyes, heavy recurring nose bleeds, chills and low grade fever, jaw pain, tooth ache, eye pain, sinus and head ache...have had it. Now I'm on anti-biotic and hope it will get better soon.

Hi Di, yes its been along time that that i intracted with all of you lovely people .... inittially you were busy with the move and than i got busy with kids and and life although i just kept popping in and looking up the latest but didnt feel like posting much and ..
you know sometimes you just like to hear silently it was one of those phases ...
Agreya is doing good Son is sitting for 10th boards so he is also one of the reasons .... he like lots of pampering when he is at home since past one month he on preparatory leave and that means lots of tasty food which is obviously showing up on me as well gained 6 lbs ... but now i am serius again although no serius exercise still just walking to beat the stress but after march i will start proper workout ..

Sooji uttapam is a fast and easy snack to prepare. You can also have it for breakfast or brunch. Itís very delicious as well as healthy option. Sooji uttapam is also known as rava uthappa or rava uthappam.
Recipe of sooji uttapam/ rava uttapam
1 1/2 cups moti sooji (rava/ coarse semolina)
Salt to taste
1 1/2 cups curd (yogurt) - preferably sour
3/4 cup water
2 tomatoes- finely diced
2 onions- finely chopped
2 green chillies- finely chopped
Coriander leaves- chopped
Salt to taste
Oil to cook
1. Mix together all the ingredients of the batter. Keep the batter aside for 1/2 hour.
2. Before cooking, beat the batter well and adjust water to get the thick pouring consistency. Batter should be thicker than dosa batter.
3. Mix all the ingredients of topping and keep aside.
4. Heat a non-stick tava or a skillet on medium. Grease it and wipe it clean with a small napkin.
5. Turning the heat to low, pour 2 tablespoon batter in the centre of the tava. With a gentle, outward motion, spread it with the back of a ladle (karchhi) to get a round shape. Keep it a little thick.
6. Turn the heat to medium and after 2 minutes, sprinkle some topping on it. Press the topping gently. Pour a tsp of oil on it and cover it with a lid of some height.
7. After the underside is cooked, remove the lid and turn over the uttapam gently so that top side also gets cooked. When the onions turn little brown, remove from the tava. Serve hot sooji uttapam with sambar or chutney.
I love Indian snacks: Banana chips, chakli, all kinds of namkeens just like Reeta!!!
But, healthy snacks that I normaly eat are: roasted edamame, fiber one bars and nuts. Kashi go lean crunch bar is what we have at home right now full of protein 'n fiber. I also like peanut butter on celery, ritz multi grain crackers with fig preserves from Whole foods topped with woolwich goat cheese. Yum! Fruits of course, we all like.... Indian snacks: Methi Para by Rajabhog - ONlY once in a blue moon saying Methi is good for health!!! When I am in the mood, I may prepare and keep this too:

My favorite snacks are: 8-12 roasted and/or plain almonds, 1/2 a protein/energy bar (I split it with my daughter so that I can control it for both of us at the same time!!!) sliced cucumber with salt and pepper 2-3 spoons of namkeen 1/2 - 1 ounce roasted cashews 1/2 cup of cereal (Vector, Special K, etc.)

Most of the times even if we control our main meals and plan them carefully we slip up for snacks. despite we all know that we can have veggie with dips or fruit for a healthy option i for the most of time just leave that aside and go for my comfort food so lets share some favorite comfort food which are healthy too.
