The walk 10000 steps team just set up a goal to give spark goodies to other team members. They're doing 3 a week. It might be a good way to get to know each other. Sort of like random acts of kindness and similar to congratulating others since you can send cards and such.

I would also like to see goals for the team. DIANEROCKALL has some good suggestions that are attainable. Maybe a daily post to support or congratulate another member.

I didn't have anything in particular in mind, but most of the other teams I've looked at have what I'd call relatively simple goals like drinking 8 glasses of water, taking a daily walk, eating enough vegetables or eating a certain number of them. That kind of thing.

I'm sorry I have not set any goals. I just took my last exam yesterday so if all went well and I passed I will be finished with all parts of the CPA exam and will be able to enjoy some free (non-study) time.

Does anyone have any particular goals in mind?

Good question, Kitchenmom!

On your SparkPage go to edit then all down the right side of the page (in edit mode) you'll see boxes that you can use to enter various information in.

If you have trouble finding it let me know!

Good luck.

My question is how do you add the info below your post - you know - about your weight stats, and favorite quotes and stuff? Thanks!

This is a great resource for learning about sparkpeope in general and discusses the various stages. According to the guide, you should expect to be in Stage 1 for about 2 weeks, Stage 2 for about 6 weeks, Stage 3 for about 10 weeks, and Stage 4 for as long as you like. Many people I have met on SP move between stages - my SP Class actually went back to basics and several people went back to
Stage 1 as a refresher.

Please keep in mind that the time you spend in each stage of the program is personal to you. If you need more time, stay in the stage you're in. If you feel like you need to move on, move up to the next stage. That is the beauty of the program - it's up to you!

I was wondering how long to stay in Stage One. I don't feel like I've developed enough good habits to move onto Stage Two yet so I was wondering how long everyone else is staying in Stage One. What's the recommended amount of time? And then how long should Stage Two be?

Hi LadyDoyle. If you'd like to change your weekly calories burned you can do that on your start page. Go to "my tools", "start", then on the bottom left side you'll see a section marked "my goals". One of them should link you directly to your weekly calories burned. From there you're just a few clicks away from setting it up!

Take care of you & keep moving!

Hi everyone, I've been noticing when I enter my daily fitness every day I go well over my calorie burn and minutes for the week. I do this simply by walking, doing my daily activities. I don't drive so any time I need to go to the store or go out I'm walking at least 30 minutes just to get to a store or get to a bus. My question is this: Is there anything I should be doing differently? Should I change some sort of setting so I get bigger numbers for my weekly calories burned? Any help is appreciated!

Yeah, I'm onto that weight thread. I was just wondering if we could also have one that didn't have commentary and different posts each time. Editing this week's weight onto last week's post. Okay. Thanks!!!

Hi everyone. I hope I can help with some of your questions.

We do have a weigh in tread under the general discussion section. You can keep track of your weight there. We'll probably start a thread for each month that you can track changes in your weight but that would likely be as of March 1 so everyone who just started can get used to the site and we can start a new month.

As far as working the night shift goes, I feel your pain. I worked until 2am for many years and it is a big challenge. You have to decide when your day begins. If you get up at 1pm then you should consider that the start of your "morning". 10pm may be your dinner time. General rule of thumb is that you should try not to eat within 2 hours of going to bed. Try reading "What is normal eating" www.sparkpeople.com/resource/nutriti
on
_articles.asp?id=600

Everyone should be eating at least 3 meals a day plus snacks. The time you eat depends on your own schedule. If you're waking up at 7am then that is the start of your day and you should have breakfast in the morning. If you're not getting up until 3pm then your "morning" starts later in the day. Adjust your diet and exercise plan according to your needs.

I hope I've helped answer some of your questions. Keep your questions coming.

Good luck. Take care of you & keep moving!

Aha. Just found this thread so I'm moving yesterday's question down here:

Is there somewhere in this team to edit your weight post every week, accumulating a list of your weekly weigh-ins. If not, could we have one? Like a sticky topic that you only post in one place but you can edit your post every week to add your current weight.

Hi Malnie, Just go to www.mvm.com/cs/ and join that website and Shop for looks. When you are finish customizing the "" Virtual Imagine"" just right click it and save it. I call it Before pic and then go back and edit that image and create AFTER pic and upload these pic to the Spark People. I hope it helped.

Hi, I work night shift and still don't know how to incorporate my exercise routine, eating habits and level of energy in this schedule. I would love to get some tips.

Thanks
