My husband favors instant mashed potatoes when he can't eat anything else. Rice sometimes bothers him (except the instant rice for some reason) but he likes mashed potatoes better than rice anyhow.

I was recently hospitalized due to a severe flare-up and they have put me on a 'bland diet'. It settled my stomach and seems to be working. All I eat is mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, white bread and low-fat dairy. I have to stay away from anything with fiber or multi-grain for now. Great for a vegetarian that is trying to lose weight huh?! However, this is temporary and I can slowly introduce other foods when everything settles down (which I hope is soon).

My "go to" is macaroni and cheese! Its easy on my tummy and its got lots of calories so I don't lose too much weight when I am not feeling well.

When I'm in the middle of a flare like right now, steamed rice is about it for me. I've lost 7 pounds since Monday.. not how I want to lose weight but guess I'll take it.

Today for breakfast, I ate 2 pieces of homemade cinnamon toast. It was really good and I've found that cinnamon is good for health!

Anything soft. I typically follow the "BRATTY" acronym. Bananas, rice, toast, tea & yogurt! Yeah, that's pretty much what I what I eat...oh, and tuna & soup!

My go to "safe food" is always yogurt. It always seems to dull the pain just a little bit.
