Shirley - I went to Curacao on my cruise last month. It and Aruba were my favorite stops. Lots of places to snorkel. They had a real shopping mall! Not like the other islands that had outdoor tents selling their trinkets. I loved it!

Sorry I'm late with today's challenge:
1. Log your cardio. What did you do today? I did two intense cardio workouts, and one with kettlebells. emoticon

2. Let's work our rears...lunges, bridges, squats, wall sits...there are tons of options in the fitness section of Spark. What did you do? Some burpees and squats and lunges.

3. Track your fat intake today. Did you stay in range? sure did.

4. I love all that SparkPeople has to offer. Do you ever do any of the fitness videos? What are your favorites? Any you've done that would make a good challenge the Bulls? I did one of my favorite kettlebell videos.

Yay! A day off of work, although I did attend one meeting this morning--oh, well.

Sorry I'm late with today's challenge:
1. Log your cardio. What did you do today? Beautiful mid-60s weather so I got in a 40 minute walk.

2. Let's work our rears...lunges, bridges, squats, wall sits...there are tons of options in the fitness section of Spark. What did you do? I did 2 sets of the intermediate heart healthy workout generated by sparkpeople and 30 minutes of beginning pilates.

3. Track your fat intake today. Did you stay in range? I haven't tracked my food yet today, but I might check in with this later.

4. I love all that SparkPeople has to offer. Do you ever do any of the fitness videos? What are your favorites? Any you've done that would make a good challenge the Bulls?

I do any of the low impact cardio and the challenge videos. I did a lot of those last summer, so now I'm using a lot of my dvds to switch things out.

Good morning/evening fellow Bulls. I am so glad to be home - even if it is only for 1 1/2 days. I got home yesterday evening from Phoenix and the funeral. The services were lovely and my husband was able to see alot of family that he hasn't seen in years. We apparently picked up a nail in one of the tires, and now have a slow leak - and one of the 3 little ones we took with us (the 3 older kids stayed home) got car sick. Now the entire car needs cleaning inside and out. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, and I will start cooking today. We are not having any family or anything, so just the standard Thanksgiving meal that I cook but in smaller amounts. I have to work tomorrow night down in Vegas and will be driving down not long after we eat.

I weighed in today since I was gone Monday - and of course after not being home for many days, it is a gain.

Good morning red bulls. OMG where have the days gone. I can't believe it is wednesday already. this time of year is so busy for me i just don't get on the computer as much. Between joining the gym, getting ready to go back to work, and getting my christmas sewing done i have ran out of hours.

Tuesday Fun Stuff:
What are your plans for Thanksgiving (if you celebrate it) and how do you plan on not overdoing it?

A. I don't skip meals. Made that mistake the second year I hosted Thanksgiving, and then I had a glass of wine while cooking. I passed out when it was time to eat, and had to eat my dinner cold.
B. I do all the cooking, which burns calories in of itself.
C. Once I get the turkey in the oven, I get a workout in.
D. And finally, because I do all the cooking, I tend not to be very hungry by dinner time. Same thing when I bake cookies - smelling everything while I bake makes me not hungry.

Hubby comes home tomorrow and the house is a wreck. I stress ate too much last night which really didn't accomplish anything. My goal today is
1/ Put away the books on my desk (including new ones I bought yesterday)
2/ Clean dining room/kitchen
3/ Stack wood in upstairs hall so you can walk through it (I have just been going through the office instead
4/ Do laundry, sweep and wash bedroom floor and tv room floor.

Hubby is coming late tomorrow. I invited friends over for dinner Friday even though our plane leaves at 6:30 a.m. Saturday morning and we have to leave for the airport at 3:30 a.m. It's only a week so as long as I pack my bathing suit, I'm good. Hubby and I are very light packers.

We have a bar fridge and a coffee maker. I'll bring 2 boxes of muesli, 2 bowls and 2 spoons for breakfasts. I'll also bring some coffee filters (both cone and flat bottom) and a pound of ground Starbucks coffee. Has anybody else been there (Curacao)? Should I bring anything else?

I will go to aquafit tonight for exercise.

Since my daughter Sam planted catnip in the barnyard several years ago Neiko is a very popular cat. Especially since catnip is like a weed and really spreads. We often have 4 or 5 barn cats visiting from the neighboring farmsand she likes being Miss Popularity! Beowulf protects her, so she really lords it over all the other cats. No way will she give it up. If Tepje likes catnip, he could come visit. They can both play with Beowulf and really drive him nuts. No more mice close to the house though. She ate them all for a while.

Going to my brother's for a big family feast. We're all cooking so I am making a healthier version of mashed potatoes and then I will use portion control when eating on the big day. I have been pretty successful the last couple of years of not overeating and being careful not to get sucked into the "it's there so you have to eat it" mentality.

What are your plans for Thanksgiving (if you celebrate it) and how do you plan on not overdoing it?

I have a small turkey for Thursday and left overs will be put into casserole dishes...like turkey pot pie, etc. for freezing batch meals. That way I have lots of meals made up and only have to defrost and cook if needed. I know some can be cooked from the frozen state and even though I do work from home I tend to forget to take anything out! lol

But I like watching birds and moths are so fun to chase (they are not suppose to taste good from what my other cat used to tell me!)

2. Work your upper body - wall push-ups! Do a set each time you use the bathroom.

3. Drink your water. I know I do this one with the push-ups all the time, but what a great way to increase your push-up count.

Captains and/or co-captains are not eligible to receive them.

Here is the criteria for Blue Ribbon winners (in order of importance):

1. Posting every day, even if just to say "hi".

2. Participating in daily challenges and questions, even if you answer "I didn't do this" to one of the challenges. (You need to do this at least 5 times during the 7-day Sunday-Saturday week to qualify for a ribbon.)

3. Did you encourage, inspire, or congratulate someone each day? (You need to do this at least 5 times during the 7-day Sunday-Saturday week to qualify for a ribbon.) A simple “good luck to today’s weigh-ins” or “great loss (name)!” is considered encouragement and/or support. Feel free to elaborate more if you wish.

4. Reporting weight on weigh-in day! I CAN’T EMPHASIZE THIS ENOUGH!!! NO WEIGH-IN WILL BE COUNTED FOR THE WEEK IF YOU DON’T REPORT IT BY 5 P.M. E.S.T. ON SATURDAY EACH WEEK. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Other, more specific, items like streaking, going above and beyond your "call of duty", and just plain being a great asset to your team. I don't believe either of the other two teams even do "blue ribbons" or a variation, there of.

There are also times when the entire team is given a "blue ribbon", just because the team has been so good at following instructions. Doing #1-#4 above sure makes it a lot easier on your captain and/or co-captains of a team.

emoticon It's hard to remember to include your blue ribbon with each post, but now that we can edit you can always go back and put it in. Do "wear" it proudly, though.

Please, please don't feel slighted if you don't get one. It’s all about keeping each other uplifted and the scales moving downward and just plain having fun.
