Well, no loss for the week... All things considered (LOTS of slip-ups with holiday eating and TOM- yuck), I could have done a lot worse. And I'm proud of myself for having gotten in a good amount of exercise this week.

Hm. I just realized that with my Sunday weigh-in I lose a week of the challenge, as far as reporting weight. =/
Is there a final weigh in or is December 1 the very last day? Can the weight I gave today be "unofficial" until the 1st and I have a final weigh in? I don't know why I chose Sunday to weigh in. Lol.

Have had a few bad days for food. I haven't over eaten just not the healthiest. Pancakes with cream, strawberries and icecream for lunch today, and salad rolls the previous two days (the salad is good the bread isn't). Kristina and I have been at the Adelaide International 3 day event (big international horse show with olympic riders) it is always good. The rider numbers for the 4 star event were down a little as they had the olympics this year so now have 4 years to get their qualifications for the next olympics so have had a bit of a break this time but still good.

RAMA62 lol yup the numbers are correct however I can't take credit for the major weight loss :) I finally started to lose water weight from having my daughter she is going to be 5 weeks old on Monday and my body took forever to start getting the water out of my system. I think my easy losses are behind me at this point and its going to slow way way down.

Friday QOTD Answer:

We had 2 of my 3 sisters (one sister lives in Georgia), and their kids over for the day. We had a really nice day together. I tried to stick to a low carb eating day, and for the most part I did. However, yesterday I ate all the high-carb foods (stuffing, potatoes, etc.) that I avoided on Thanksgiving day, and it shows. I had a 3 lb. gain this week. Today I'm sitting down and planning out my food and activity for the week. I'm hoping that having it all thought out ahead of time will help me to be more successful.

Rachel - Sounds like you had a really nice Thanksgiving and I'm very impressed that you went out and walked a mile and a half! Way to go!

Nicki - Sorry that you had to spend your Thanksgiving studying for finals. When are your exams? What classes? Fortunately, in grad school, I have very few exams but LOTS of papers. I'd rather write papers. :)

Dee - Good for you that didn't overdo! I think if I'd worked all day and then went out to dinner, I'd be likely to go overboard. Glad you didn't!

Michelle (MOMMYOF3_1983) - Am I reading your weights right? You've lost 21 lbs in the last 3 weeks!! Amazing! Congratulations!

Aithley - Congratulations for continuing to move in the right direction - your challenge goal is within reach!

I stuck to my plan because I did not want to go off track. Going off track causes me to not stay focussed and motivated. I passed up the rolls, butter, white potatoes and dessert.

Thanksgiving was just okay for us. I wish we had made a turkey but instead we had chicken legs and stuffing. Studying for finals is brutal.

Friday QOTD:

We had a really nice thanksgiving. We visited dh's grandparent's church, then whn back to their place after the service. Dh's mom came in from out of town and we got to meet her new beau, who was surprisingly pleasant. I did eat whatever I wanted, but I was diligent not to overeat. I had small portions of everything. Even dessert. In fact, dh ate most of my dessert. Lol. So yeah.
I planned to map out and walk 5k, but by the time we got home it was already going on 5. I left to walk at 5 and had to cut my walk short because it was getting dark, and I didn't want to be out alone in the dark. So I got a mile and a half in, which I'm proud of! Beats nothing at all!! =]

Thanksgiving continues for us today. My family is getting together and we're having a baby shower for my older sister as well. Fun fun. Busy busy. Lol.

I hope you all have a wonderful day with family and friends! Here in Northwest Wisconsin, it's going to be almost 60 degrees! That's just crazy. When I was growing up, we always went iceskating an/or snowmobiling on Thanksgiving. It's been warm here all month, especially this past week. I won't complain. I'm sure the cold weather is coming. :)

Tammy - I think that's a smart attitude, not to dwell on the past. I always try to use the past to remind me of what I did well, and to remind me of what I need to change, and then move on...

Linda - Thanks for reminding me of other things in my life to appreciate, such as the people who have shaped me to be the person I am today.

Michelle (MOMMYOF3_1983) - Tracking is such a key. I know that when I track faithfully, I always lose - so why don't I always do it? :) Good luck on getting back to your pre-pregnancy weight - I'm sure you can do it! (I'm still trying to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight, and my youngest is 14 years old LOL, so you're way ahead of the game).

Rachel - You're so right that having people to be accountable to (and who can celebrate with us) can make such a difference in our weight loss journey. Congratulations on getting into the 230's - it's so exciting to hit those milestones! The 220's can't be far behind...

Nicki - It is SO much easier when both people in a couple quit. The most successful/long-term quitter I've been is when my husband and I quit together. It doesn't mean it's not doable by yourself, just harder. It's good that you can quit pretty easily, cold turkey. Keep quitting and eventually it will stick!

Valerie - Absolutely an hour of swimming counts! In fact, it counts 12 times over. :)

Jennylee - It's really a nice picture of you! Good for you that you are in the "zone" where you feel like losing weight is doable! As we all know, so much of being successful is in our heads. Slower is better - it's more likely to stay off.

Georgann - I'm with you. Just the fact that I can get out of bed and can get around under my own power is such a gift!

Deb - Thanks for noticing the profile picture change. I thought I would like to put one up of my hubby David and I with our little grandson, Fletcher. He will be 1 next Monday. Time flies so fast.

My whole problem with smoking is the fact that I can quit cold turkey. I get an attitude for a couple of days but I can do it easily. The biggest reason why I haven't done it is because my fiance refuses to stop smoking in the house and the smell is like temptation. He tells me he'll go outside but I'll wake up in the middle of the night to find him smoking in the bathroom or I'll wash the walls and clean the house to get the smell out only to find he's been smoking inside while I'm at school. I think he is my stress and the whole reason why I continue. lol

Hey everyone! Sorry for the absence. Sort of dealing with family problems, and have been really busy... Shamefully, I've really slipped with eating and I've not gotten in any exercise this week. Sigh.

Deb, your original post is in the reply box and it has the You Can Do It! emoticon thingy... And I really needed that right now. I find it really interesting what having a place and having people to be accountable to does. I blamed my eating and not exercising on being busy and stress... But those are just excuses. I recall several "oh well" moments over the past couple of days, followed by guilt. I just really love posting these things because it is giving me a chance to check myself, my attitude, and hold mySELF accountable for my actions. So. With that being said...

Tuesday QOTD:
I'd LOVE to drop another 10 pounds by the end of the year. That would put me in the 220's (by 1 pound- hehe). I've not seen 220 in... at least a decade? Probably never?! LOL. I don't remember ever really paying much attention to the numbers, but I've never been under 230 in my adult life. In fact, I've never been under 240, and I've achieved that this week. Which makes me feel good and proud of myself.
I'm also excited to celebrate me weighing less than my husband for the first time in our entire relationship together. To be fair, though, he's gained 50 pounds since he's been out of work. LOL. But it's still something that I look forward to. And 5 pounds will put me there.

Tuesday Question of the Day:

With about 6 weeks left in 2012, are there any goals that you would like to accomplish before the end of the year?

My main goal is to just get back on track I currently have good days and bad days and have been so exhausted I want to work on getting back to normal. Weight wise i'd like to lose another 14 lbs. which would take me to my pre pregnancy size with still a long ways to go but at least i'll be back to where I had gotten myself to last year :) I also want to track every single day !! Wether I go over or under I really need to start using the nurtition tracker consistantly again i'am doing good this week but I really need to keep it up.

Things I am thankful for....

1) Having a happy healthy family
2) Having a new place to call home
3) I'am thankful for my close friends who support me even when i'am being impossible :)
4) For life itself !!
5) My faith

Tuesday Question of the Day:

With about 6 weeks left in 2012, are there any goals that you would like to accomplish before the end of the year?

I would love to get down to 240 by the end of the year. I know many of us have went through losing weight and than gaining it back. I have several times. Last year I lost 30 lbs and was down to 228. Now, here I am trying to lose those same pounds. I try not to dweal on it. Just keep moving forward today and not worry about the past.

With about 6 weeks left in 2012, are there any goals that you would like to accomplish before the end of the year?

As with most people I would like to meet a weight goal by the end of the year. I am currently at 124kgs (272.8 lbs) but would really love to hit the 120 kgs (264 lbs) mark. I can't tell you the last time I was there. It would have to be at least 15-20 years ago.

Well I was really hoping to get down to 190 by the end of the year, but, I don't think that is going to be possible, I lost 3 pounds this week and I still have about 14 more to go and that will make it a total of 82. something, (to lazy to get up and go check it out,) But, I am feeling good about being over the 80 pound line now,

Deb, I just realized how your hawk name captures the sprit of the year--Grateful Hawk.

My long term goal is that I start 2013 10% lighter than 2012. Currently I am there and if maintain will be fine. I may lose, but will be satisfied with no gain. Hope to lose another 10% during the new year.

I want to lose another 11 pounds before Dec 31st. I have been fighting the same 5 pounds for 6 months now and really need to get over this plateau.

My goal, at this point, is to end the year weighing less than what I weighed in the first week of 2012. At that time, I weighed 265, so even if I maintain, I will be weighing less. It would be really nice to be 10 lbs. less than at the beginning of the year. Something to shoot for....

Woohoo! :) I'm hoping I can keep up my downward spiral. I started doing my kinect daily. Big change from doing nothing. Thanksgiving is not going to be my trap this year because we aren't really going to have one. Too busy with studying for finals to spend all day cooking. I'm thinking we're going to do some green bean casserole and maybe a turkey breast and call it a day.

We had 24 Hawks assigned to our team, 16 who reported in. Of these 16, 12 reported week two weights. A total of 28.3 lbs was lost and 5.1 lbs was gained, for a net loss of 23.2 lbs.

The biggest losers are:

Sorry I am so late in reporting my weight. I have had a VERY busy 3 days after a busy few months. We had a large horse competition for our zone which has 7 clubs in it and our club had to host it. We are a tiny club (8 adults and 7 kids) but had 60 riders and then their families/friends attend so around 150 + people. The day turned out well.

Starting Weight for this challenge: 124.3 kgs (273.5 lbs)
Week 1: 4-10 Nov: 124.1 kgs (273 lbs) Loss 0.5 lbs
Week 2: 11-17 Nov: 124.0 kgs (272.8 lbs) Loss 0.2 lbs
Week 3: 18-24 Nov:
Week 5: 25 Nov - 1 Dec:
Goal Weight for 4-week challenge: 122 kgs (268.4 lbs)

My loss was a pathetic one again but I guess it still went down albeit only slightly.

I hope everyone else did better.
