Happy Saturday, Bulls!! We had such a good time at the Campfire Stories last night. I didn't know what would be told, but it was legends, such as how the turkey vulture got its red, bald head and how the bear lost its tail! It cooled down to just the perfect temp for a campfire for roasting marshmallows and the lightning waited until we were done!
Shirley - thank you! It did! I have a long list of questions for Tuesday but that's ok. She is expecting that!
Today is going to the Great Lakes Fiber Festival - walking around in the sun all day looking at fiber critters and maybe buying some yummy yarns!!

I'm back. Surgery went well. Came home Thurs. afternoon, but spent most of the day and all night sleeping. I've been up most of today, but getting ready for bed. I'm still in some pain.

Aside from the crappy weigh in, today has been productive. I got a DJ for our Relay For Life event, so that's awesome. Got my grocery shopping done and put away. Next I'm going to clean the cat boxes (my favorite job) and wash the sheets.

Its been a busy week and allergies have got the best of me, along with that nasty cold and strep throat going around.
I still manage to get some exercise in this week and work outside. But not enough to balance my calorie ins vs calories outs to get a loss for the week.

1. Hoof it Bulls! If you have the option to walk, bike, run, skip or hop--do it! Be conscience of your body and how much activity you are doing. Did a quicker 2 mile WATP and looking forward to switching to 3 miles tomorrow!!!

3. Liquid calories--try to avoid them today. Chew your calories! No juice (choose fruit or veggies rather than juice), no soda or caloric drinks today. I gave up calories in drinks about 20 years ago except for skim milk and the occasional alcholic drink. In University I used to love beer and refused to have it in the house also for 20 years as I wanted to limit myself. Now I can have beer in the house and don't feel tempted because I really don't want to drink my calories.

It's crazy at my house right now. Since last Saturday, we have a new puppy, 2 orphaned lambs (now 5 days old) and tonight one chick hatched--plus 3 kids and a husband. It is just NUTS! LOL
I have been reading your posts and promise tomorrow after I get some sleep I will catch up w/ you. The lambs eat every 5 hours, pup goes outside about every 4--LONG NIGHTS w/ little sleep.

The walk/hike was GORGEOUS!!! 93 minutes and covered a smidge over 2 miles of forest at first and then prairie. Including that walk I drank a total of 3 liters of water today...whew!!
Tomorrow is a campfire storytelling gathering with marshmallows for toasting...I can't wait!!

THURSDAY CHALLENGES

Hey all. Just signed up for the next challenge. I'm glad they're doing a week off. I've done exactly what I need to stop doing - I lose a chunk of weight with my anxiety attacks, and then I start feeling better, then I start staying up later, not getting enough sleep, eating like crap and not exercizing. Maybe if I kept the good habits I'd stop having the attacks, huh? So I know I'll have another gain tomorrow, which I hate, since it's the last week of the challenge. So, I start again! I've been running all over with my kids today, and it's pretty freaking hot right now. And it will only get hotter. Welcome summer!
Behind on everything today, but hope to get up to the exercise room soon. Planning a shrimp curry for dinner tonight. Main goal, stay calm, exercise, shower, eat healthy.

No walking last night. Still dealing with aftermath from the fire so getting into the apartment complex is frustrating.
I came across a story today that just hit my nerves....
Tonight is a 2-mile guided hike on an easy path. Yay!!!

A really stressful day at the hospital. Too tired to do anything. Luckily I had made a healthy Spark recipe yesterday, so we had leftovers tonight for dinner. It was the Chicken Stroganoff and I would recommend it.

Missy- ty for the Spark goodie.....I am feeling a bit better but last night my starter in the car was acting up. I won't drive it to work (are you kidding it's about 30 miles from where I live) so was scrambling to find rides to and from. I was just glad there was NO chocolate in the house! lol

Happy Wednesday Bulls!! I am sleeeeeepy after staying up a bit late last night. The fluid I was retaining appears to be gone (as my outer thigh muscles were burning last night on my ride I was telling myself that would be the result - yay!!) and I'm not a bit sore!! Today's plan is to walk to Stitch n Bitch. We'll see how I feel after work.

Well, my little heifers, it is nearly 3 am. here in Indy and I will be leaving for the hospital in 3 1/2 hrs. Still have to take my anti-bacterial shower, yet. So I will be MIA for a couple of days. The surgery is supposed to be outpatient and I should only be there for 23 hrs. However, the surgeon did say there was still the possibility that she would have to "revise" my WLS. So I could be in the hospital for as long as 3 days. I will get back to you as soon as I can. Say a little prayer for me. The actual surgery will be at 10 a.m.
Everyone encourage each other, make healthy choices and keep your body moving. You are all doing a great job!

Tuesday - I am still off my regular schedule. My daughter graduated high school and so now she's home every day which throws me off. Then today, my 10 year old was sick so I didn't get to do much. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.
sweat like dog this pass weekend 30 C - burned about 1000 cals each day & ate under 1500 cals and still gained------ grrrrr , roar like a bull.... lol, sure was a nice long weekend here in Ontario Canada otherwise.. hope you all did better then me...

WOW - turns out the community/office building of my apartment complex went up in flames about 6 this morning!! No one was hurt, and the Fire Department had it out within 30 minutes but I had no idea. And I am only 100 yards away. Scary since we live in such a wooded area.
I did 4.27 miles in 38 minutes on my bike after work. I'm gobsmacked!!! I did have to get off and walk 4 times, which was just fine. I lasted longer than I thought is some sections by just repeating "I got this. I can do this. You're doing just fine, girl!!" And one of the spots? was even better when I saw a couple "pros" getting off and walking too. A couple of those hills were STEEP!!!
Right now I'm enjoying a mango-pineapple smoothie made with greek yogurt with honey and flax seeds. I had already cut the recipe in half and it needs some tweaking but it's pretty tasty, otherwise!!
