I have forgotten to eat but never forgotten to bath.

Everybody tells me that they would love to knit, but they don't have time. I look at people's lives and I can see opportunity and time for knitting all over the place. The time spent riding the bus each day? That's a pair of socks over a month. Waiting in line? Mittens. Watching TV? Buckets of wasted time that could be an exquisite lace shawl. ~Stephanie Pearl-McPhee, At Knit's End: Meditations for Women Who Knit Too Much

You can't pass up a thrift store without going in to see what you find to use for new projects. Not that you know what project you need it for, you just buy it because you know it will come in handy someday.

Got this from another group I am on

I needed some cushions and I didn't want to buy the readymade pads, so I was
looking for somewhere to stash some yarn I had brought. Had the bag of yarn
in one hand and the empty cushion cover in the other, got half way up the
stairs and had a light bulb moment. One could go in the other yes. Now all
my cushions are full of wool and jolly comfortable they are too. My other
half is none the wiser although he wouldn't actually say anything to be to
be fair to him, he might laugh but that's all as he is a hoarder himself so
hasn't a leg to stand on . Yeh I have a few spaces to fill !!!

In my 33 years of marriage, whenever we would move , looking for places to live would be based priority on 1. schools for the boys. 2. quick commute for hubby to work 3. proximity to the craft stores in the area. So when we move again, this time its only based on 2 and 3 and not in that order

1) when people start expecting hand made gifts and are disappointed when they don't get them.
2) when hate to throw out anything because you could use it somehow for a craft
3) When the one bedroom you have turned into your craft room is no longer big enough to hold everything....

When you take all your spare bedrooms and turn them into craft rooms. We have a separate apartment attached to our big shop where friends and family stay when they come for a visit. The 2 spare bedrooms in the main house are our studios/playrooms..The big shop is also a craft shop for us both..his wood and my ceramics....heehee

When you are in the yarn dept, the sales staff does shows you the new yarns and colors. Worst is when you go to another store and bring yarns back to your favorite store and ask them to carry it in their stock.
