I take some prescribed medicine for a couple of diagnosed conditions. I hope your assumptions are correct regarding your medicine. Good luck if it is an elective prescription. 4.5 years is a lot of years.

I posted here about a week or two ago about taking Zopiclone at night to sleep, and that I would start eating uncontrollably once the zopiclone kicked in, right before I fell asleep when my defenses were down. I got some very good advice and have gone to bed repeating my new mantra "Don't dope and eat" :)
Well, 4 days ago I decided to go cold turkey and stop taking zopiclone all together I have been taking it for 4.5 years. I know it's probably not a wise move for everyone. I am on vacation, so decided that if I'm going to have sleepless nights, then I would rather it be when I'm not working. So, the first 3 nights were hell. If I got to sleep at all, I would only sleep very lightly and only short naps. Last night was HEAVEN !!!! I SLEPT !!!! wow it was great !!! I'm hoping that I sleep that way again tonight. :)
