Hey, Audrey! I've never even heard of Buteyko breathing. I was just thinking it was time to have the doc give me another sleep test. They seem to just keep telling me I need to crank up the oxygen. It doesn't do me the least bit of good because I always wake up gasping and have to go hunting for my cannula. (or however you spell that) I'm going to have to check this out.

Here's also a Spark People site about Sleep Journaling:

I was suffering from sleep apnoea ever since I had some surgery in November 2008. I had a sleep study and was put on a C-Pap machine. Problem was I couldn't sleep! I had the machine for 2 1/2 months and only slept twice! (and that was for 4 hours)
I became aware of Buteyko breathing and did the course in November 2010. Since then I have not slept well every night but have had quite a few instances of waking up refreshed ... something that had not happened at all during the previous 2 years. I am persevering with the exercises and am getting better all the time.
The course is expensive but not as expensive as the C-Pap machine and the ongoing costs. It also works for asthma sufferers.
I would recomend anyone with sleep apnoea or asthma to give it a go. Good luck.
I'd love to hear about other people's experiences with Buteyko breathing.

I am in Australia, the link to the web site is, www.sleepingallnight.com
If you are overseas try putting Buteyko into Google (or similar). There are Buteyko trainers in most countries of the world.
