Great story, and I couldn't have read it on a better day!

I work at a vet clinic and today we had an owner who calls the breed of her dog 'carolina ditch dog' (as in born in a ditch dog). Anyhoo! this dog has the head, body and tail of a pug, but it is 45lbs and comes just above your knee...

At the clinic we reclasified the 'carolina ditch dog" breed to "Pug Plus!"

The dog is really nice, but super nervous, it spent the day for moniting bloodwork and is back home tonight.

I actually considered a larger dog also but landlord wanted a smaller one........so I researched smaller ones and got my sweet Chloe.

Thanks for sharing that. Made me laugh. My friend has a mastiff and I could see how it could be mistaked for a GIANT pug. Thanks for the story

LOL I see what you mean, a mastiff in many ways does look like an over-sized pug...

But they've also known to be the size of horses almost...

This is something strange that happened to me concerning my doggie. I went to pick my dog up at the foster moms house. I was told that I would be getting a young adult pug. I did alot of research before I went to meet her. Anyway, I almost died when this GINORMOUS dog rounded the corner to greet me. He looked like a pug in every way that I could see....except....he weighed like 70 or 80 pounds at least. I thought, how the heck am I going to carry him up the stairs if he needs me too......and.....omg I've never seen such an enormous pug..........anyway, a little while later, my Chloe comes strutting around the corner...........and the foster mom picks her up and hands her to me.......I'm like....Thank God........Now, to be honest, I was going to take the other doggie home (the extremely obese and giant pug) if that was Chloe.......as I have weight issues too.....and well.....being giant isn't a crime........for weeks (literally), I researched giant pugs.........to no avail.....researched the largest pug ever documented.......to no avail, because it was like 26 pounds or something like that............I didn't know if I should call someone.....lol....because this lady was blowing her pugs up................to giant size...........was so confused...........come to find out..................it just happens to be.........that I was looking at an overweight mastiff.................still needed to loose weight but made much more sense..............................Since then, I do not judge a book by it's cover.........even an animal.......you never know what/who it might be.......Weird Experience. emoticon
