We get a lot of snow here, so I like to snowshoe, cross country ski, and I have a GREAT sled called a Mad River Rocket - it's essentially a knee board for snow. It's a TON of fun. I crash a lot though, so I can only go a couple times a week because I'm so sore afterward, lol! This year I'm hoping to take snowboarding lessons. My hubby used to ski a lot, I tried skis, but could never get the hang of it, I spent more time on the ground untangling my feet which made it NO fun! I tried 'boarding several years ago, and thought I'd like it, but didn't have the time to practice much. Now that we live in an area that has lots of snow, I don't have to drive too far to get to a good hill to practice, and in all reality, I have a good hill w/in walking distance. I have to say Winter is probably my favorite season.

My dragon boat practices and power strength training are all year long. Even in the rain we ahve to deal with scooping water out of the bottom of the boats. Winter is best time for me actually because hot summer days draws speed boats that are really dangerous to kayakers and rowers and draon boaters. I have an Arthritist striken body but I refuse to give up. I cover my head with knit caps and gloves and wet suit pants and my wind breaker and I'm ready to go.
