Today my exercise has consisted of finger exercises only (on the computer). My hip has been bothering me a little, so decided to give it a rest today. And I decided it was too warm to go out and walk today (that was a good excuse anyhow). But... that's okay, I take a day off now and then..

The only problem I have with exercise is when it get's too hot, like today. But when it's hot, my eating is great, lots of salads and fruit and water.

Winter is harder, but this summer has been no picnic either. Not sure why.

I'm with you Amber, my husband and I both would be eating ice cream every day if I wasn't changing my lifestyle. I settle for an ocassional fudgecycle bar instead. I compared them with the Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches and they are way better in calories and carbs.

Summer I tend to eat a lot more veggies and fruits. This year we are growing our first garden (yes at 61 I haven't had a garden in 30 years) and my husband brings in an armful everyday, can't wait for the fresh tomatoes.

I am doing well. During the winter we go to a care group every Wednesday that serves dessert, so it is nice not having to face that. I also ride my bike to work that I don't do during the winter.

I AM HAVING TROUBLE STAYING ON TRACK, BUT NOT BECAUSE IT'S SUMMER...LOL I USUALLY DO BETTER IN THE SUMMER AS THERE IS SO MUCH FRESH FRUITS AND VEGGIES IN SEASON. IT'S USUALLY EASIER TO EXERCISE WHEN IT'S WARMER TOO. I'M JUST HAVING A HARD TIME RIGHT NOW.

the only problem I have in the summer is wanting to eat popsicles and ice cream by the truckload! It just gets SOOO hot!

MUSCLE DOES NOT WEIGH MORE THAN FAT 5 lbs = 5 lbs

5 lbs of muscle simply takes up less space than 5 lbs of fat!

For the most part, I have a harder time in winter staying on a program - I think the heavier foods, stews, chili's, soups, roasts, etc. During the summer I tend to eat quicker and lighter - and in this part of the country, the fruits and veggies are abundant during the summer months.
Exercising... that's another subject.. but I do try and get a walk 5 days a week, either outside or on the treadmill. That's about the extent of it.

Are you having trouble staying on track with your eating and exercising now that it's Summer?

For the most part, I'm doing pretty well.

Water is very important for us. We may, and I do, require more than the 8 glasses a day. The link goes to a water calculator I use to see what I need for my current weight. Mt requirement has dropped 9 ounces due to weight loss. Yipee!
