I am lucky to live close to all my grandchildren. Australia is my childhood dream. We may go for my 6oth birthday. I would also like to cruise the Hawaiian Islands. I could happily spend a month in Hawaii.
O.K. if we get more than one. machu pichu and the surrounding area, patagonia trek, spend 3 months bumming around europe staying in all the hostels, do the appalachian trail. there are lots of places to see.
a couple of places are on our list, Europe, also want to go to Kuwajen and see my brother in law, this year we have a 2 week vacation, probably driving to Disneyland, never have been there and the oldest wants to go, not sure if we will fly someone down for the couple of days we are there to watch the 3 yr old Last year we did an 8 week vacation, drove down the california coast, saw some family, did camping, went to seaworld, and then drove home through the sierra nevadas, did lots of camping Rosa
I've been pondering this and have to say - I'd just stay home here on my "little bit of heaven". My flowers are starting to bloom, trees and shrubs are leafing out, grass is greening up, apple trees are beginning to bloom and leaf, blueberries and strawberries are blooming,.... why leave. It's too lovely and ripe with what's to come. It's peaceful, comfortable, and I love it here.

Last year, I did spend the month of April in Egypt, a life-long dream, and the month of August with my grandchildren and their parents. I would NOT do the latter again - even though they asked me and needed a sitter, it was waaaaay too long. For a month elsewhere I'd tend toward tropical - the Cook Islands and Tonga are both gorgeous. But I think a month is too long away from home. Oregon it really the place for me. k.

Back to Haines, Alaska. That is the most beautiful place I have ever been. The mountains, the ocean inlets, the glaciers, the eagles, the bears, the whales, the fish, the moose walking down Main Street..etc.
