Didn't do too much this last week...except for functional walking, arm/leg lifts...and some stretching. Hope to get more done this week. emoticon

My healthy habit goal is to add strength training to my workout routine and exercise more than two days a week. I guess that's two goals, but that's OK, right?

1. Today I did 5 minutes on the cardioglide
2. 30 Arm/leg lifts each side
3. 10 overhead stretches
4. 100 steps walking in place
5. 750 functional walking
6. 20 side to side twists

45 minutes total

I did it. I got up this morning and worked out for 30 min. on my elliptical. But I'm super tired so I am going to be early and giving it a go again tomorrow.

Thank You For Today

I will jump in on this challenge as well -- My goal is to do my strength training in the morning before work (inspired by Coco_135s post below) -- its 10 minutes, three times a day. Also, in the mornings I will do my 30 minute cardio recovery workouts which I do twice a week -- This is defintely going to challenge me!!

I'm in. I need this. My healthy habit change is going to be getting up in the morning to exercise. I'm really not much of a morning person, but once I get home from work I never seem to make the time to exercise. In the morning I can exercise while the kids still sleeping. I've actually been working on this since last week. I got up 2 days early last week. And so far this week I've made it Mon, Tues, and today. :0) I'd like to keep going w/ it to make it "stick" and become a habit. I'll have to say, it is slowly (very slowly) starting to get easier to get up in the morning.

The purpose of SparkPeople is to help, encourage, and motivate all of us to develop new healthy lifestyles. It is said that if you do something for at least 3 weeks, you have developed that habit.

With this in mind...We are going to challenge everyone to choose 1 (one) Healthy Habit to work on. You are to report how you are doing 5 out of 7 days and on February 29, 2008, we would like everyone to report whether or not you have developed this habit into your lifestyle.

You have until February 1st to make and report that choice.
