I actually set a bunch of goals for myself this year and so I am succeeding with them,I am staying focused on getting completely healed from my hysterectomy so I can resume serious training and get back into the pool and do my 50 laps; I am currently 181 lbs. and just one pound from my goal of 180 for the month of April which is surprising considering that I was in the hospital for three days but I discovered that I gained 10 while in the hospital due to all of the IV liquids going into me and the stuff they put me to sleep with and the pain medication that I was pumping into me through a pump the first 24 hrs.

We in Navy and Marine Corps Wives Team are ambitiously setting our annual goals and resolutions, armed with the greatest intentions to actually keep them. I want to share with you a little secret... Most of us will not make it to the end of the year. Yes, I know, this is sad but true. Today is the day when at least 50% of resolutions go down the drain. Most people let them trickle away with a quick nod to their valiant 2-week effort, and quickly move on, lest the shame grow too large. I am not immune to "failed resolution syndrome." Over the years I have failed to accomplish the following resolutions: Learn another language Stop drinking so much coffee Skip dessert at least 3 nights a week Learn how to Jog Be on time for everything (or at least something!) Blah blah blah. You name it, I didn't stick to it. Well, this is the year. I mean it! it's time. If I can do it, you can do it. I am publicly announcing two resolutions. Yes, this is big. It means that if I don't do them, I can be publicly shamed. Navy and Marine Corps Wives Resolution #1: I will not talk on my cell phone while driving (texting and reading emails are obviously taboo). It is just too dangerous and I recently saw a movie (to remain unnamed so I don't ruin it for you) that solidified this resolution. Navy and Marine Corps Wives Resolution #2: I will meet my goal weight
So I challenge all of you to make a RESOLUTION that you will actually stick to. Make it an athletic goal and spark yourself up appropriately and you'll be extra happy. I will check back on January 1, 2010. Until then, enjoy this New Year. It will be what you make it!
