Thanks for a perspective on the crowd size. That's probably going to be the deal breaker; I'm not yet ready for an event of that size.
As for the distance, that is not a concern.
The Thanksgiving Day Race has about 15,000 people that do it every year. If you are intimidated by crowds over 10,000 people, it may be a problem especially at the start and the first mile or so.
It is also a 10k Race. If you have not been running for some time, a 10k can be a challenge to complete.
For a first timer, I would recommend a 5k race as my first organized race before stepping up to to the 10k distance.
Would you recommend this race to a first timer?
Iíve never participated in an organized race and am a bit intimidated. Would the Thanksgiving Day Race been too crowed and overwhelming?
Knowing I need to start somewhere, should it be on Thanksgiving?
