GREAT NEWS! I worked with the AHA, and got the team moved out from under the 5/3 umbrella team (because I can't recruit at work because of the timing), and it's been renamed - SPARKPEOPLE OF CINCINNATI!! And nobody who's already joined lost their registration or donations - W00T!
I just joined your team Euphrates. I previously signed up to volunteer on Saturday, but can't remember morning or afternoon. I saw where Rachel is volunteering as well and it would be nice to meet up with someone down there.

did .75 miles in 15 mins today. So that's 1 1/2 miles in 30 mins. Not bad. Still got more training to do.
My office formed a team so I've signed up and am committed to the 5K run. No turning back now!!
I cannot make myself be thin today, but I CAN be healthier by making a few smart choices. I focus on what needs to be done today and tomorrow takes care of itself.

So is this a SparkPeople team you are talking about? I did Flying Pig 5K a few years ago. Currently don't think that my body would be happy with my running again - have had foot issues over the last year - but have started walking for exercise. Is there a walking portion too?

YAY! Thanks for joining Rachel! Whether I can volunteer or not is going to depend on what happens at work - I'm likely going to be doing this after working all night (the projected date for our big mainframe "split" has been changed to that night...sighs), so unless they change it (again) I'm probably going to need to get all the sleep I can on Saturday. :) We'll see what happens - I'd LOVE to volunteer if I can.

If you want to work with me I put morning inside as first, afternoon inside as second, I put in the team name, however I did not put in who I want to work with. So... if you register to volunteer drop me a sparkmail for last name.

YAY! I'll definitely be doing the walk, and I'm either going to run the 5K or the 15 (depending on where I am with C25K - finally got new shoes so I'm starting next week)! Since I'm coordinating for our work team (which *anyone* can join btw), I'll be there the whole day to cheer everyone on!

I've only got 1 5K under my belt but am starting to get excited about this one in March! I'll have more than 4 months of training under my belt by then if I can keep up the treadmill work over the winter. I'll be using this event as my motivation on the days I think I can't stand another 30 minutes staring at the wall behind my treadmill. I think I'll hang a calendar with the date of the run on it so I know where I'm aiming.
Still WAY too soon to think about a marathon though!

Decided to volunteer on Saturday and do the walk on Sunday. Hopefully I won't be doing the walk alone so let me know if anyone else is doing it and maybe we can meet up.

LOL - at least it wasn't cold rain (which seems to be the traditional weather for the Thanksgiving Day Race...which I didn't do this year, and was thankful when I woke up yesterday that I didn't have to go out in the rain). :D

Awesome! I haven't participated in this event in several years. The weather is always so unpredictable. One year it was beautiful when I did it and the next it was snowing/sleeting.
