keep reading posts from people who are doing this too. i was inspired by several posts just on this page: someone's 60 year old sister who takes 15,000 steps a day and lost 100 pounds makes my 3000 steps a day and 35 pounds look truly doable! Add people as friends whom you find inspiring. Take time to look at the different parts of the site (articles and videos, community) and USE THE TOOLS. Just recording what you eat is enough to change your habits over time, i promise you. Take care and stay connected, to Spark, to this group, and to your own goals for yourself and why you set them, why you came here. That part of you is ready, now just to help the rest of you get on board with the plan!
Don't give up. It is hard in the beginning. I have gotten support by reading the motivation articles on healthy life styles. It takes motivation and support from real people who went through the same things we are going through. I have decided to write down everything I am going through this journey. I have been on spark people since 2009 and have gone up and down in my weight, due to not been consistent with their advise. Now i open and read and follow up with tracking my progress. Also been honest with my self. I have stated since this May 2012 and only lost 2 pounds and a couple of inches. felt bad at first all this work and just to pounds. Then i remembered what a Dr.told me. People who loose weight fast and with pills tense to put it back. Change your eating habits. Exercise, add more vegetables and fruits to your diet.This will give you results. So my 2 Pounds didn't look so bad. It was a victory. emoticon

Sparks is a great resource, everything you need to learn about living a healthier lifestyle is here. Use the Help button at the top, read about setting goals, join a challenge on one of the spark teams www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/challeng e. asp I find challenges are a big help to motivation. If you haven't, get The Spark book and read it. There's a Spark Book site here that is only open to people who have the book (you have to read the book to find the code for the site). It's truly inspiring to read about how making small changes, like 10 minutes a day, can make a positive impact on your life. Above all: don't give up, tell yourself you can do it, one small step at a time.

you are fine, never hurts to ask for help. Not sure what you are doing, but if it has been a couple of months and no change, then PLEASE start with one change and work from there. If you are not exercising, please commit to at least 10 minutes a day. There are tons of videos online to help you and keep it fresh and exciting. On your diet/eating habits, start with drinking more water. Plan snacks and carry them with you. Strive to eat more fruits and veggies every day, Not sure where you live, but where I live, this is the perfect season to pick the fruits and veggies option to eat more of them. Fresh season for lots of good things. Since you are having problems getting started, start small and build from there. One thing at a time and try to build a Spark streak from there. Also look at yourself, what is your motivation, is something holding you back? A lot of weight loss is about getting our head on straight and working out past issues. The bottom line is that you need to make yourself aware that you are worth the effort that it takes to lose the weight and make yourself healthier and no one else can do this for you, this is a journey that is all yours.

I am not sure if I am going about this in the correct way when asking for help, but I am having trouble doing this alone. I need support. Where do I go forhelp. I have been with sparks for a couple of months and have not lost any weight or been successful in changing my eating habits. Please help.
