I'm new to the team today, so I am just going to start these June goals today. Here we go:
1. No soda pop Monday - Fridays.
2. Exercise (walk or bike) at least 2 miles a day at least 5 days a week.
These will be tough enough for me w/o adding more. :-)

For this month of June, my plan is to go hiking or walking every Saturday. I had been done that in the last 2 Saturday, by walking; tomorrow, I will join a group of hiking that I know from meetup.

I am going to try this month to walk at least 1 mile every day in June.

I'm one for two on the June goals. I haven't really done particularly well tracking food. On the other hand, I have been diligent about the Spark 5K running program. I start the last week on Monday.
Have to think about what I need to focus on in July. Probably diligence about food intake!

I have certainly been slacking on my June goals. They were:
1. Knee exercises every day to strengthen my knee. --still only a couple of times per week.
2. Limit calories after my last meal of the day (fewer than 300). --This has been a complete failure, with yesterday being the first day that I did not binge after dinner. But every streak starts with Day 1.
3. Family time 2-3 times per week, including meals, games, or a favorite TV show. --everyone seems to be going different directions. This weekend, we're going out of town to work on my mom's house. Maybe we'll get some time together.

I ran a sand hill, 8 miler this weekend. It's getting easier and my times are coming down. My calf muscles are really getting defined with running in the soft sand.
I'm happy to report that I've lost two pounds so far this month. I have another 6 to go!

Well, the grad party is over and life is feeling a bit more normal. I did strength exercises today (including my knee exercises). If I do not eat any more today, I should be alright for my after dinner calories (I can do it, I can do it, I can do it). Family time....still working on that one.

My goal this month is to, like JANNERUN, prepare more meals at home. This is something that I have a difficult time doing because of our crazy schedules and the fact that I am a poor planner! Therefore, I guess another goal is to become a better planner, too. LOL
Good luck, everyone!!

Looking over the week, I feel I did pretty good with the goals. There was the one day I went way, way over the calorie range, but on the up side, I did get in all my fruits & veggies. After my run this morning I weighed myself, and I am down a pound, so maybe bumping up the intensity of the cardio has helped. How is everyone doing on their goals???

My goal is to continue to drop the pounds and keep the energy going.
My goals for June are: 1. work harder to stay in my calorie range 2. kick up the intensity of my workouts--getting my heart rate up. 3. Cook dinner at home 4 times a week. Not as much take-out, which is difficult to do when its just the 2 of us at home. But even cereal for dinner is better than picking up a hamburger or chicken sandwich. 4. Five servings of fruits and veggies--will forever be working on this goal.

My long range goal has been to add 20-25 pounds of muscle in the last two years, which I've attained. Along with it, I seem to have picked up about 8 pounds of jiggle in the middle. My goal for June and into July is to loose that jiggle.
I also want to take my running mileage up a notch.

My goals for June will be to get a big jump on my walk to Florida. Drink 8 - 10 glasses of water a day and walk at least once a day, twice if there is time.

My June goals
1. Continue to do the Spark 5K Jogging Program. In June I will do week 5 twice, followed by weeks 6 and 7. I'm doing week 5 twice as this week I'm able to do all the miles on the treadmill at work, but next week I'll be at the beach all week. I don't want to increase the week's mileage when I'm trying to figure out how to jog outside again for 3 days. I have to work on my pace as I can't control it via the treadmill speed settings.
2. Stay vigilant about the calorie range during the week.
On the side, but not really tracking it, is to do my strength training regularly.

I have a list of goals posted in my blog, but I am not going to be posting all of them here. Way to tedious...
Here's my short list: 1. Knee exercises every day to strengthen my knee. 2. Limit calories after my last meal of the day (fewer than 300). 3. Family time 2-3 times per week, including meals, games, or a favorite TV show.

I hope we can use this thread to talk about our goals for the month. Pick a few manageable goals on which you want to focus this month. Each of us will choose ones that are suited to where we are in this process. Maybe they will be food-related goals or fitness related goals. Maybe they will be other goals that relate to life balance or other things that you really want to do.
Then come back here, daily if you can, and post how you are doing and encourage one another.
This is a good place to get encouragement from others who can help with ideas or with just propping you up. And we love to celebrate success too!
