Okay, I can't say much about where I've been. Checking the sensor logs at the science and space scanning stations has lead me to the conclusion that I may have gotten sucked into an invisible wormhole for the past several days. My trip count for those days totaled 247 LY, but it's all a blur of images swishing by the viewport!

I've been doing a bit of darting around the universe these past few days, but have had no time to create a captain's log! I'll have to go back and look at my fitness page and remember what I have done... lol...

I didn't get very far yesterday, merely a 40 LY hop. However, this got me as far as a lovely green and blue planet which was bountiful with edible flora and fauna! Since I had the opportunity for fresh instead of rations, I stocked up and spent the rest of the day chopping and storing the goods for future use.

My dad moved to Ocean Springs about a year ago, suddenly and unexpectedly after a lifetime in the mountains of WVa/Va. I think his cancer scare made him decide to change his whole life... but then he got terribly ill again and we had to go retrieve him and bring him back to live with family. He had no one there, we were all at least a half day away from him, with no way to really check in on him easily.

So, we only spent a few hours in Ocean Springs...

Ocean Springs MS?! Number One and I were there for Hurricane Katrina! We ran a Red Cross shelter in the Lutheran Church (ELCA Syynod) for about 3 weeks or so?

I've been exploring Mars quite a bit, and will post some neato photos in a while...

Sounds like quite the trip Lala!

I've not done much travel this week either. I did manage to log about 40 ly on Monday. I visitied a nearby public recreation area, which has a very nice paved surface on which I can run/walk/jog. Promptly after that I was invaded by a 'Flue' and spent both Tuesday and Wednesday fighting it off. The remainder of my week and most of my weekend is to be spent in virtual slaverly to something called OZ. Ok, I wore all my creative juices out explaining it my blog so if you want to know more... go look there!

Hey folks... no zipping 'round the galaxy for me this week, just lots of crawling around groundside back on Earth. We went from FL at noon Sunday to Ocean Springs MS, then left MS at noon on Monday to Greenville, NC, left Tuesday morning and made it to my sister's place in VA, left Wednesday morning and made it to Brunswick GA, then finally made it back to Florida Thursday afternoon. Wow!

Today I'm recovering and tomorrow it's back to work!

Right? I'm also hoping that there are no holo-recorders present on the little planet I visit with the strange dancing. My participation is fun and perhaps interesting, but NOT cute!

So far this week I travelled 3 days, somewhere in the vicinity of 110 Light Years. Travel consisted of dancing around a strage flat contraption and taking direction from an animated humanoid displayed on a large screen. Somehow, said humanoid could tell what I was doing... very strange. I also spent some time observing some truly bizzare early morning behavior and while traveling on a rotating section of ground. One of the locals in my travels showed me some odd moves that are supposed to improve my travel times, and so I also spent some time moving my body in odd ways while carrying semi-heavy 'dumb-bells'. I certianly hope no one nearby had a holo-recorder handy!

Still in motion! I spent some time in the ship's exercise facility as I traveled another 70 LY. After all, we have to keep up the muscle mass out here in zero G.

Today I decided to hang out on the ship while in transit to my next destination - a 95 LY trip today, in three jumps. I played some games with the ship's computer, some Wii Tennis and a Wii sword battle game that I love. I also walked the ship from end to end to make sure everything was in good order!

I spent another 60LY yesterday, having the dawg take me for a walk. As it was quite cold, and windy, I had to ceremoniously bundle up in many layers of "Winter Garb" (?)... apprantely this planet has no Weather control! The dawg walked me down the dirt (covered with snow and ice) road, then he insisted that we return to the domicile by walking on the beach! A very strange sort of place this beach as it was covered with miniature mountains of sand and ice! eventually, we had to climb thru waist deep snow to finally return! Now the cat is looking at me funny?

I took a break from my observations of the Su-Burb-anites to return to the world of the rhythmic dancers, just a short hop of 60 LY away. This time the dance seemed very celebratory, with much shouting and cheering, with their upper appendages clapping and swaying. They seemed to be having a very good time!

150 Light Years travelled yesterday!

My companions and I ventured into a remote area which I've recently been told many tales about. Two of my companions wore strange contraptions on their backs and kept holding plastic tubes towards my face. Evidently this was the local form of satifying ones thirst. We hiked up a rocky mountian face, over some steep inclines and even some areas with 'stairs carved into the rocks. We were brought up short at the summit of the hike, unable to reach it's heights due to a malfunction in the primitive verticle trasport device, something called 'rust'. Due to this snag in our plans two of my most daring companions crossed a crevice (Yes I chickened out) and circled 'Liberty Cap' looking for footholds to reach the top. One of them did in fact make it half way up before giving up (thank goodness!) As we traveled down the wind was making things very chill and darkness overcame us before we had quite reached the bottom. Thus I broke out my trusty supersconic headlamp and lead the way back to the ship.

2 1/2 hour total hike.

I walked with the Su-Burb-anite females for 5 klicks yesterday, attempting to understand their culture. I found no indication that there was a purpose to the event, other than... GULP... getting exercise. Fascinating!

(I did the walk in 62 minutes, and we didn't come in dead last this time! Woo hoo!)

Spen about an hour the previous 2 days bundled up inside layers (?!) of clothing to participate in an old tradition of having a four footed animal lead me down a snowy road? This is indeed a strange custom, accompanied by said animal's woofing, and grunts of delight. Oh, and defecation. Really, it appears that this notnferal beast has it's Hoomins quite well trained as to it's needs! thew Hoomns open and close doors for it, feed it, and generally cater to it's whims?
Oh, and I've discovered an even more impresssively self centered furry animal... the cat.

I've been quite the little traveler for the last couple of days! I logged 130 LY on Thursday and another 50 LY today.

My travels took me through more of Su-Burb-ia and eventually to a place where young Su-Burb-anites bring their spawn and elderly Su-Burb-anites hang out with towels wrapped around their necks while they move from group to group and converse near strange contraptions that moved their limbs back and forth. Perhaps they are retired Hitchhikers, as they seem to always know where their towels are.

So as to not look out of place, when I arrived on the scene I quickly located a towel as well. But I found their contraptions fascinating, so I climbed aboard one to see how it functioned. It was so much fun that I stayed there for some time, until I was quite worn out by the whole experience.

Tomorrow I am off to see the inhabitants of a place called Winter Park, where I hear that a massive amount of Su-Burb-anite females will be gathering for an event. Many of them will be running for about 5 klicks through a neighborhood, but I have yet to hear about what they will chase. I plan to tag along at the back of the crowd as it moves to see what else I can learn.

No travel for me yesterday. I woke to discover that I had been invaded by a small colony of some tiny hungry alien species, bent on making off with my food rations and taking them back to their (probably) evil queen. I spent some time repelling the invasion, then had to put the ship back in order to clean up the mess of the battle.

Then of course I had to file a report with HQ - and the district chief scheduled a conference call about the invasion, which lasted for over 2.5 hours and was a complete waste of time. The meeting took longer than the entire invasion, naturally! And it completely sucked away my desire for adventure... bleh...

But it's Thursday now, and the engines have already warmed up and are moving me along at a nice pace. Today will be a great day!

Have seen those weather reports. Appears the primitives on this planet either refuse to believe the science involved, and do nothing, or go to an extreme with much shouting and yelling?
Since my study of the indiginees here is not complete, I must use awkward, and painfully mechanical conveyance to move snow. This is done at an excruciatingly slow pace, and said machine tends to freeze up a lot. Ahh... what I wouldn't give for a good old fashioned blaster!

I'm sad to report that due to a galactic snowstorm in the East quadrant, the delivery of my Asics rocket boots have been delayed! Preliminary reports say they are stranded in some strange land which the locals call 'Kentucky'. It would seem that any light years logged over the next couple of days will be without the aid of my trusty apendage covers.

I traveled about 52 light years yesterday. I stayed in orbit around a small Earthlike planet and observed an alien species who call themselves Su-Burb-anites. They lived in a spread of identical housing units placed very close together. Each of them had flat green yards in the front, very small, and all with the same little flag hanging near their front portals, which indicated something about the winter season. Perhaps they are petitioning the weather gods for an end to the cold?

Each yard had one or two young Su-Burb-anites out front, playing with a ball on a paved area. Then, all at once, all of the doors opened and all of the maternal units stepped out to call the small ones back inside. (Oh, no, wait, that was a scene from A Wrinkle in Time - never mind!)

LOL

I too traveled 60 light years and discovered a strange alien world. Many of it's bipedal inhabitants had long hair in a variety of colors, all pulled up onto the tops of their heads, and their limbs were constantly in motion! Their feet pounded the floor in a rhythm that I could scarcely follow, and their arms shook wildly in all directions! Periodically they would pause in their actions and dash off to the sides of the room to drink a clear liquid and contort their torsos into strange positions.

I found it fascinating, and I think I will return to this place from time to time to learn more about their strange dance. Is it a celebration of some kind or a religious ritual? Only time will tell!

sounds good to me!

My weekend looked like this:

Saturday: 60 light years by way of escorting my MIL and son along the riverfront trail. We discovered some rare specimens, however, due to my sons enthusiasm for the trip, they now all lay at the bottom of river. Everything that is, except for the unidentified feather which was quickly mashed into his coat pocket to examine later.

Sunday: 160 light years, during which time I was able to observe some local wildlife, complete with piles of poo pellets and aliens strapped to cliff walls. The highlight of the trek was reaching a rock formation surrounded by a gigantic natural amphitheatre.

At this time juncture, and considering the coordinates of just where in the MultiVerse we are... {consults with Nemo the Nav Computer}... am thinking that we should start anew! This gives everybody a fresh chance to kick start their personal mission profiles, and enter into Mission Analysis and Projection Systems (MAPS) to give each of us a good direction in which to travel in our Personal Objective Direction System (PODS)...

I had to go back to the first mission post to figure out this awesome adventure. This is GREAT! I don't know if you are ready to accept new members into the Corps or if you are collecting mission data before embarking on another journey. I definitely am on board for the Earth Explorer Corps! With flight clearance from spaceport authority, I am green for go.

Hi fellow crew, how's everyone doing? I'm just checking in from Shore Leave, and then (of course) meetings at HQ. Seems they mistakenly promoted me to another Star Fire class cruiser, but this one is larger, faster, and more fun! Glad that none of you reported on that awful mix up when I thought that Betelgeuse was firing at the ambassador! How as I to know that they use ordnance, blown out of their posteriors as a form of communication? Besides, he, or it, will grow a new tail in a few months anyway...

I've been bad about cardio lately, but I have 2655 minutes (actually more, but I've still been doing some SPA treatments). That puts me on my way to Ross.

I'm headed back from Apha & Beta Procyon, and will file a complete report later. I did fidn that there are habitable planets, with intelligent species, orbiting both stars. It is currently believed that they share some form of common ancestry, but currently do not have any communication with each other.

Mmmmm SPA treatments (brilliant!)

I haven't had time to create a proper log, unfortunately, but I've gone another 60 minutes in the past few days, or about a parsec. I have a report on Proxima as well... coming soon!

Happy travels until then!

Wow! I just realized it's been a month since I updated my EEC! progress. I think that means I've been on furlough.

Rather than try to do that math, I think I will start assume any ADEATS time I've spent (which is some, but not as much as it should have been) was used to power my local station rather than advance my personal explorations (that would be Station Power Augmentation, or SPA treatments).

That means I am at 2505 total minutes, which puts me--somewhere. I need to find my trip chart! I thought it was on my home computer, but apparently I'll need to break out the laptop.

I'll post the rest of my calculated distances as soon as I pull out my laptop again, which will be tonight or tomorrow.

Oooooh, yeah. Well, ya see, sometimes Anarctic Traffic Control doesn't seem to get the return orders to us until it's way late in the mission. So then we sorta kinda go where we think the next mission may take us? It's really nebulous (all puns intended) but eventually ADEATS will catch up and give you new routing.
Until then, just aim at the star on the right, and full thrusters ahead!

Greetings! Another 30 minutes, another half parsec today. I should arrive at Proxima Centauri tomorrow, and have a good look around.

I wished I'd had time to ask before they stuffed me in a ship and blasted me out of the system... do we return to Terra between each trip and then head out to the next destination? I'll need to re-program the NAV COMP.

...about 1/2 way to Procyon, the trip has been delightful, altho I did have to file an item with ADEATS to warn others of the nether regions of Munchy Space that I went thru last night. *giggle*

I finally got my clearance from the PHLEGM board, but then I took a bit of leave time for my birthday and wound up on a heck of a bender. EEC! was about to declare me AWOL when I finally woke up and dragged myself back to ADEATS HQ. They stuck me on the first transport available, hangover or no, and now I'm half a parsec on my way to Proxima Centauri via 30 minutes on the elliptical this morning.

This is my first trip out of the system and I'm quite excited, but I'll be spending some time studying up on my destination and submit a report soon!

Alright, the Main Engine Start Sequence (or MESS) went without a hitch, or a glitch, and I'm heading out of the Solar System again. Today was 109 minutes, or 1.8 parsecs into the trip. Thru the Oort Cloud, (and maybe a quick stop at my fave chicken Burger Shack from Chicken Invaders From Outer Space), and then to Infinity and Beyond...

Thanks, Flame... with bronchitis and allergies I'm really looking forward to going to work and school while sniffling and coughing. I'll be the one surrounded by dudes in hazmat suits... sigh...

Welcome Dalia.

I've been waiting for the pollen to go away so I can get outdoors more. Right now I make it a few blocks and them I'm all stuffed up again.
