I walked 3 miles yesterday for a new total of 40.74. I am so excited that I met my target of 40 miles!!!

I'm keeping a record of my walking and biking. Too bad there's not a way to gauge my lawn-mowing! That has been my workout mode for the last two days. Almost three hours of walking behind a mower. Hmmm. Next time I'll wear a pedometer. And you KNOW the next time will come before I'm ready to go out there and do it again!

Have not yet been able to walk in my new Fit Niche shoes since I wore a really cute pair of shoes to shop in the day I bought them and they made a dreadful blister on my heel. It is still not ready for sock and shoe. And I was so excited about my new shoes. Needless to say, the cute little pair are on their way to the thrift donation bag.

I like this idea . . . and it motivates me to count my walking. Hmmm. I have from today, 9-5 until January 1. That is 117 days. That is a little over 16 weeks. I think I can walk at least 5 miles a week. I also bicycle.

I will pledge to do 75 miles of walking and 200 miles of biking.

Woo-Hoo!!

You may want to check out the team "Virtual/walk/run/cycle thru the U.S. @ exercise.lbl.gov". I started in may and have walked across VA and recently entered KY. I'm averaging about 50 miles a week between the bike and walking and I love seeing the pictures of where I am each day.

This challenge is to see how far you can walk between August 8, 2013 and January 1, 2014. Set a walking goal that you would like to meet by the start of 2014. Maybe walking can help you improve your health and fitness level.
