I had a really good week until last evening. My little Jordan was in his first Christmas program . . . the Kindergarteners at Conway Elementary School in Orlando. He was a Snowman in one sketch . . . otherwise just another face on the risers with 95 children. Of course he was the cutest and most talented . . . .!! Ha! I LOVE that kid. At any rate, my daughter invited us to dinner before the program and my job was to bring the family cake, which is a chocolate sheet cake with marshmellow icing. I planned to have a piece of cake. I didn't plan to eat a serious amount of frosting in the process. Bad bad bad. Then as the Broncos were clearing losing, last night following the frosting-cake escapade I raided the potato chips and ate a righteous amount of kettle-fried BBQ chips. They lost anyway. What was I thinking? Loathing!! Of course I didn't weigh today cause I just didn't want to face the music. I'm back on track today and will try to behave and weigh in on Monday. I hope for a two pound loss over my last weight. I like your idea that its in the water. That's better than my thought that I was just doing emotional eating. Tee-hee.

There must be something in the water because I have been struggling with the same issues. Much of my issue is caused by both being put on bed rest for an injury and by a terrible medication that causes water retention. I am off the medication and as of yesterday, I am now resuming my workouts!

I'm having an awful time getting back on track. I've been crazy off and on for at least six weeks. I've gained six pounds . . . up and down . . . up and down. I'm hoping to take just one day at a time. Yesterday was a good food day. Stayed within my calorie range, but still not exercising as right knee is barking at me. DRAT. Today will be another good day . . . It HAS to be!

I am trying to eat more protein. Protein digests more slowly than other things and it makes me feel full longer!

I let go of what happened yesterday. It is now in the past and I can't do anything about it anyway. However, I can control what happens today. Every day, I get a new chance for a fresh start!

No matter how I feel, I shoot for 10 minutes of exercise per day. That 10 minutes usually turns into 30 then 60 then ??? I always start small and build from there.

Do you have a favorite mantra that you use to keep yourself motivated? Perhaps you have a suggestion for those team members who have hit a bump in the road on their journey to health.
