for me, what has helped me in the past 6 months really is to do SOMETHING active every day, whether it be crunches & a yoga dvd, or a walk/run on the treadmill, or a group exercise class at the gym. #workitout100 has helped me a lot in that regard. :)
I can read motivational literature, I can accept pats on the back from friends, but in the end, I must find that Spark within myself to do the hard things. Let's all find and use that inner spark to light our fires for fitness!
"If you wanna be somebody else, if you're tired of fightin' battles with yourself, if you wanna be somebody else, Change Your Mind." Sister Hazel, from "The Fortress" CD.
Encouraging everyone to post a motivation tip that they have read, heard of, or practice themselves in this thread over the next 2 weeks. I was listening to a rerun of a special Oprah with Bob Greene yesterday and he said something that I heartily agree with and have found helpful. He was discussing squeezing in as many servings of veggies as possible. For myself I find I can eat and almost limitless amount of vegetables, maybe not potatoes but greans, peppers and anything I eat raw for sure and still lose weight. Fruit I try to watch as I can greatly overdo that. No one really should eat 5 bananas a day IMHO but I have done it!
I am not skilled to understand what GOD has willed what GOD has planned I only know at his right hand stands one who is my SAVIOR NewLibrarian
