What a workout you could get trying to keep "The Black Pearl" a float....how many calories for cleaning up after all those pirates with "good manners !!"... emoticon emoticon

Far away in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow where they lead.

Well, if you sweat out the water you won't have to worry about the inevitable lines at the Sleeping Beauty bathrooms...

Yes, Thank you...I probably will and I won't forget my sunscreen and drink lots of water...I hope that they will let me take in an empty water bottle...if not I will buy an overpriced bottle of water and fill it up at the water fountains....and I hope there are no lines at the little Sleepy Beauty bathrooms.. emoticon

But I should have a grasp of the basics of the Japanese language (and have won the lottery) before I go visit these places?

I went to Japan for 2 weeks with a friend about 4 years ago. I loved it! I don't really think there was a place I didn't like. But there were a few I did stay away from because they were huge tourist traps, Tokyo Tower was one such place(maybe next trip) One thing I did learn was someone told me that the Japanese took english in school so they would know a little bit-LIES!!!! Hardly anyone speaks a word of english so I would suggest have a firm grasp of the basics before even thinking of heading over there. I am taking this time to learn a lot of the language, I have noticed I picked up a lot more when I watched anime in Japanese amd combine that with my learning materials I should be set!

Just a little something to make you go .....Hmmmmmm?
Have you ever noticed that Tokyo and Kyoto are spelled using the same letters (in English that is)...my son pointed that out to me one day...the trivial things our minds settle on.

AH it sounds sooo BEAUTIFUL!!!! I have a pal north of Tokyo...40 miles I think? Another one in Kyoto...the one in Kyoto I haven't seen since high school! So I am gonna try to track her down and write to her and if I can, wanna go see her...and yeah now I wanna go see those beaches!!!
LOL I love anime too so I wanna go see that and Tokyo Tower that reminds me of the Eiffel Tower. I might go to Disney Tokyo but am wondering what the crowds are like. And one thing I wanna try is doing DDR in one of their club places. LOL

I believe to be extra-ordinary I can't do it without God and I have to do what the ordinary person refuses to do.

I also think we can do anything if we are willing to pay the price and take the time that our goal requires. Are you willing to pay the price and spend the time to gain your goal?

Don't necessarily believe about the "fish" dogs. They have access to some American style foods as well. McDonald's used to serve some type of rice fries, but you could get real french fries as well.

If you go to Japan, try to take a side trip to Okinawa, as well. The island is beautiful, and has some lovely beaches, as well as some interesting markets. One of the more beautiful beaches I visited while I was there was (I'm not sure of the spelling) Seragaki Beach. You have to walk down the coral steps to get there, but it's a beautiful beach. Just be sure to wear some diving shoes while in the water...sea urchins really do hurt if you step on them, and they have plenty of them in the water. Try snorkeling if you can....the tropical fish are beautiful, and the waters are calm, so you can see them clearly. Mission Beach is another neat place. Also, the market at Naha.

Hope this helps

Hey anyone who has been to Japan...what are great places to go or see? Tell us about your favorite places and why or what your experience was like when you were in Japan and any tips or things you learned that would be good to know for people who go for their first time that you wish someone had told you :)
I have heard of this...do not eat the hot dogs...they are made from fish meat :P hehe
