Ok everyone! This is what I have gathered about the team goals feature. Grab a cup of tea or better yet, a glass of water and bear with me.LOL
As a team, we can set up to 5 team goals that we work on and track individually on our "Other Goals" tracker but our team totals will be tracked as well and displayed on the main team page. This is an optional feature, you do not have to get involved in it and can opt out later if it isn't for you.
The first step is to decide on a goal. Sparkpeople has set up some special goals that we can choose from and they are: (the numbers in brackets can be changed to a number that is suitable for us)
Drink (8) cups of water per day.
Do (500) minutes of fitness activities per month.
Walk (10 000)steps per day.
Get (8) hours of sleep per day.
Save (1)dollars per day.
Earn (100) Sparkpoints per month.
Or we have the option to create custom goals, in which we have to decide on the following specifics:
Action: (ex. run,read)
Amount: (a number)
Measurement:(ex. miles, books)
How Often:(per day,week,or month)
Once we decide on our goal, we have to decide on a target number for the whole team: for example 50 000 fitness minutes per month. This would be everyone's fitness minutes combined.
As of a couple of minutes ago we have 149 members and so far in April we have accumulated 22 727 fitness minutes.
I'm suggesting we start with a goal that is already set up by SP until we get the hang of it and then we can go crazy with it!LOL Maybe we could do "total fitness minutes" because that would everyone's exercise of choice.
Soooooo, there it is. Does anyone have comments, questions, suggestions. Please let me know! This will only work with everyone's input!
Now I'm going to rewarm my cup of tea!
