The Healthy Living Challenge Team is coming to you with the Fall Challenge!

The Fall Challenge is designed to not take up too much of your time, but also to keep you focused on your healthy lifestyle goals and give you a support network as you work on your personal transformation. It is also designed to be short so as to keep you motivated in your weight loss goals and efforts.

The HLC Fall Challenge starts on Sunday, September 23 and ends with final weigh-ins on Sunday, October 20. Final weights will need to be posted by October 24. This is a four week challenge. Weeks run Sunday to Saturday with weights needing to be posted by Wednesday.

Once you have been assigned to a team, you will be sent an invite to join the Healthy Living Challenge Fall Challenge Spark Team. You must accept SparkMail to join this challenge. Having a public SparkPage is encouraged.

For the start of the challenge, you'll be required to post your starting weight and measurements for chest, waist and hips.

After that, weigh-ins will be reported weekly and measurements will be collected again at the end of the challenge.

Challenge weeks run Sunday to Saturday.

Weigh-ins are due by Wednesday of each week. Each participant will post their weekly weigh-ins on their team's "Weigh-in & Reporting Thread." All team captains will report their team's results by Friday and all-team results will be posted over the weekend.

If you miss two weigh-ins in a row (without letting your team know if you're going to be off-line in advance or unable to complete the challenge), you will be considered a "no-show/dropout" and will be dropped from your team's roster. (Don't let this happen to you!)



Each week, you will be required to weigh-in with your team.
Your percentage of weight loss will be calculated by your team's Stats Captain.
Each team will have a Biggest Loser for the week based on percentage lost.

Each week, you will be encouraged to participate with your team. Being active supporting your team mates and being supported helps maintain weight loss efforts and motivation.
You will earn five points for your team every day you post anywhere on the HLC Challenge Team and/or support a teammate with a SparkPage comment or SparkGoodie.
(Maximum 35 points per week per person)

Each week, you will be encouraged to participate in the All Team Challenge. You will earn points for your team by completing the challenge and posting your personal results.

There will also be a bonus challenge for drinking your water. You can earn 10 points for your team for each day you drink at least 64 oz. (8 glasses) of water.

Participation Points, All Team Challenge Points, and Bonus Points will be posted on the same thread as your weekly weigh-in.



Each week, there will be an All Team Challenge.
This challenge will focus different aspects of Healthy Living.

Information about the coming week's challenge will be posted on Fridays.
For the Fall Challenge, challenge points earned will be averaged by the number of people posting challenge points for the week.



All teams will be tracking:
1) Percentage of Weight Lost
2) Participation Points
3) All Team Challenge Points
4) Percentage of Inches Lost (final week only)

Each week, totals for each of these items will be reported for every team. Each team will receive a number of points based on their ranking for each category.

The team with the most points is the weekly winner. The team with the most points over all 4 weeks will be crowned the Champions of the Healthy Living Fall Challenge!


Guidelines to help raise your chances of success:

Participate in team discussions and challenges. Being active on SparkPeople will help you reach your goals.

You must accept SparkMail (as it's our main source for sharing important information) and it helps if you have a public SparkPage so that teammates can leave you comments and goodies to support you during the challenge.

Don't hurt yourself! Stay safe! Push yourself, but don't overdo it. We don't want anyone visiting the ER because they went overboard on a challenge!

Again - we want people to get HEALTHY - NOT HURT!








If you are ready to commit to yourself, your goals, and your team - then this challenge is for you!

The captains on this team are an awesome group who will do what they can to help you succeed! But YOU have to do the work! We can give you the tools and the encouragement and the support - but we can't make you log on, pass on that donut, or tie you to a treadmill! You have to do that FOR YOU!
