I helped purchase toys for a woman's shelter. I took my kids along and let them help to. (My friend plays Santa for the shelter every year and he collects donations.)
We had three full carts of toys and it was a lot of fun. It really warmed my son's heart...... he said that he wishes he could see the children open up the toys. He would love to see their faces. I was something very heartfelt and rewarding to do!
I also took some time and cleaned for my in laws before they returned home. They have been dealing with my FIL being sick with cancer so anything I can do to help them out.

Welcome to the BLC Holiday Break Challenge for the "Week Before Christmas!" This is the SPIRIT OF THE SEASON Challenge.
This week's challenge is simple! Practice a random act of kindness!
Examples: Donate some can goods to a food drive in your community Give your local Salvation Army bell ringer some change as you leave the store Invite someone who doesn't have anywhere else to go on Christmas Eve/Day to dine with your family Donate a toy/gift to a toy drive or giving tree in your community Hold the door for a loaded down shopper in the mall Let the person with "just one thing" skip ahead of you in line at the store Share smiles! Give someone a compliment Offer to watch someone's kids so they can do some last minute shopping or wrapping
If you practice your random act of kindness, be sure to post here with a: or !
