I received a SparkMail from the leader of one of my other teams. Apparently someone had posted a thread asking anyone if they wanted to text each other for support. Some folks did, and posted their phone numbers in the thread, as opposed to sending individual SparkMail.
Some guy who was randomly searching the internet, probably with the search word "text" or something, found the phone numbers and started text messaging anyone who had put their phone number on the thread. And it wasn't for support, it was to ask them for dates.
So, wanted to give you all a heads up (I will post on the 30 Something team page and the Pink Shrinkers thread as well) that should you decide to share your phone number with someone, do it through SparkMail only, do NOT post it in a thread. In fact, don't even post it on your SparkPage. If someone were to google your username, your page would pop up. Of course, that would require they know your username, which is not likely if they are not a member of Spark to begin with. But just be cautious on how and when you give out or post your personal information.
Unless of course you really want some stranger text messaging you for a date.
Take good care, All! Chloe
