Up by two, not to good this week, today is a new day though.

Don't forget to log in your minutes on the Weekend challenge and to stop by and check out and be part of the September Challenge.

And remember to stay active the next couple of weeks. We have the BLC#6 to be ready for.

LETS GO PINK SHRINKERS!!!!

Oh, and Chloe for the new BlC#6, I do kind of like Pinky Shrinky Dinkys or Shrinky Dinky Pinkys, it's fun, for our new name! I would be up for a name change, I think it would keep us all going to have new and exciting things to look forward to!

I can't wait to start watching the Biggest Loser, I've never watched a full season before, only parts of them. I'm so excited!!!! emoticon

Hope every one had a great weekend.

If you have any trouble let me know.

Hope everyone had a good weekend, and yes I know that for some of us it's still the weekend and have Monday off. I don't get that gift having th emotel and all, it's 24/7.

Although I did get to go to a baby shower today, and yes I had a piece of cake, only a little piece, and it was good. And then I worked it off with all the shopping and walking I did afterwards.

Now I'm tired and going to bed. catch you Pinkies tomorrow or should I say later today seeing as how it's 1:55am here.

Night night,

Hey, Y'all!

Do you remember the shrinky-dinks from when we were kids? I don't see them anymore, but they must be out there! I was thinking of them because I was thinking of our team name. I was just being silly, coming up with things like Pinky Shrinky Dinkys, Pink Shrinkin' Dinkers, Shrinky Dinky Pinkies, and on and on. Hey, it's Friday evening, I worked 8-6 (it's only 5:15, I have another 45 minutes to go), and I'm feeling a little punchy. :-)

Anywho, Laura, thank you for posting the weekend challenge! I'm spending the day at the Sausalito Art and Wine fest tomorrow, so I plan on doing a lot of walking. I'll count every step! And with roomie moving in tomorrow, and me not being there, Sunday is going to be all about getting used to new roomie, and cleaning, of course. Then Monday, I'm planning on watching movies all day, and hopping on my treadmill for at least 2 hours. I should get quite a few minutes in!

Dana, I know what you mean about logging in. When I skip a day, usually on the weekends, it's hard to keep in line. And it's not because I don't love you all! I just get caught up in life. It happens. We can't beat ourselves up about it. We can only try harder, right?

I'm sorry you're going through so much right now. I can't imagine how you're feeling, but I hope that thsoe meds you get this weekend help.

As for staying in touch for the time between the challenges, absolutely! I will try to remember to start a thread under the BLC thread on Thursday (we're officially done with the round on Wednesday), but if I don't, or if anyone wants to start one before then, please do so. Anyone of us can get it started.

And I look forward to your challenge for September! I tried to do August, but got caught up in things and never made it past day 2. I endeavor to do better this time around.

I'm not going to post a Saturday challenge, what with the weekend challenge Laura told us about, so remember to stop by this weekend, or Monday, or even Tuesday and log all of your exercise minutes!

Until I read you again,
Chloe

Hey Pinkies,

I haven't been very good at post lately. And it shows in my eating and over all health, I just really seem to do better when I keep up with post and log in everyday. Which I have not been doing.

I'm having some hard times dealing with the mood swings and irritability. I'm not sure if I told you all that when I went to the Doctor this last time to get the results from my thyroid and LDL & HDL, well he told that I am now going through PerMenapause. Yes I know I am young, however, in 2005 I had a Hysterectomy, everything removed except my Ovaries. When I had it done that doctor told the surgery could throw me into early Menopause.

Now with this going on on top of everything else, I feel so over stressed and I'm either crying or wanting to scream or hit someone. I am getting some herb Med's this weekend so hopefully it will help with all the moodiness. My poor hubby and daughter just don't know what to do for me. They are always asking me if they did something. It's so hard to explain to them what is happening to me, when I don't even understand it all.

Anyhow, I cause I needed to get that out. Still working on some of the old baggage, however I'm really doing good with all of that old stuff and understanding why I turn to food. I'm getting over one mountain to just start climbing another one.

Does it ever end? I just really wonder sometimes, just how much one person can handle in life. I think I have been given enough for 3-4 people at times.

Okay, enough of me being boowooy. Now for something EXCITING the Sept. Challenge. I've been working on a good one. So everyone look for it. I'll be posting it in the next couple of days.

I can't believe this week and the Mini Challenge is almost over. Maybe if it's okay with you Chloe, we can make a Pink Shrinkers forum and that way we can all stay motivated and keep in touch for the BLC#6.

Everyone have a great weekend, and be careful. I know for most of you it's a three day weekend. For me everyday is work day here at the motel. Although I did have a nice vacation in San Antonio. My hubby is gone for the weekend, until Monday. He and my dad went to Austin for a Herp. (snake) show, to sell some of my dad's reptiles. my daughter has a game tonight(cheerleader) and is going out of town with her BFF for her baby shower (friends not my daughter). So most of the weekend I'll be by myself. LOTS of time to think.

Okay, I promise, last post for the night.

In all of this moving crap out of the 2nd bedroom for Jorell, I have found these two tiny boxes that contain tiny cards with inspiration sayings. One is A Box of Thoughts on Healing, the other, A Box of Thoughts on New Beginnings. I'm going to try to post one a day until I go through them all.

Here's the first one...

"When one is going to lead an entirely new life, one requires regular and wholesome meals."
~Oscar Wilde

In addition, I found all of my old Chicken Soup for the Soul books. If you've never heard of them, I truly think you would enjoy them. I have 25, every one different from all of the others. Scary, ain't it? Anyway, all of the stories are HUGELY inspirational. I tear up or laugh at pretty much all of them. The one that got me was in a small version of one of the books, a very sad last letter from a trucker to his wife after an accident. I've probably read it a dozen times, and I just read it to a friend over the phone tonight, and my voice kept cracking while I was reading. I've decided to start blogging at least one inspirational story a week. I won't do that one first, because it's really long and I'm really tired, but I will blog it soon. Well, that and it's not, per se, inspirational, just beautiful.

Anyway, I'll read you soon!

Exercise challenge for Friday, August 29...

30 minutes playing (With your kids, pets, friends, loved one(s), by yourself, your students, whatever you want to do. Jump rope, get on the floor and roll around, get one of those balls on a string attached to a paddle, get a hackey sack, go to a park and swing, literally whatever you want that's playing and making you smile and laugh.)
30 minutes walking/jogging in place while listening to music or watching your favorite movie, or an inspirational movie (No commercials, so either a CD, tape or record for music, or DVD or tape for the movie - or premium cable channel. I always forget about that, I just have basic/expanded cable, no SHO or HBO or anything like that.)

Enjoy your Friday, folks! Make it a good one!

Okay, so we're all agreed, we should all revolt and throw away our scales!

Just kidding. I know, I'm obsessed with it, I admit it. I'm a scale-aholic. (Hey, it may not actually be a word, but I like it!)

Erin, thank you! I think I'll get those pounds off in the next challenge, too! And I know you'll have the 1 pound gone to hit 30 by next week for sure. And under 250 soon after that! Woohoo!

Lynn, I bought a digital scale for work for a while, actually it's still there but I haven't used it in over a year specifically because I CAN'T get undressed there. Several of us threw in money for it, because we had a few of us who wanted to try to lose weight together. It didn't work out quite like we wanted, but there's at least one lady who continued to use the scale for quite a while. I think she told me that it died. Probably just needs a new battery, but I haven't even bothered to check it out for over a year now.

Okay, keep your eyes peeled for the exercise challenge!

Those emoticon are different. I had bought a digital scale back in June thinking that it would be much more accurate, but I noticed that it was always like 5-7lbs heavier, but at times it was one pound heavier. It seems as though the digital scale would fluctuate more than the regular scale. It drove me crazy at first and eventually I stopped going by it when it read that I was 230lbs, then I knew for sure that it was not reliable.

Hey Everyone!

I hope you all had a great day! Congrats to all of the losers this week!

Chloe, I thought about you when I posted last night since I know you like those emoticons. Don't feel bad. I know you'd use them more if you could, but I was feeling especially good and felt the urge! Thank you for the nice words you had for me! You're a great team captain! emoticon Only 26lbs to 200 emoticon I think you can make that during the next BLC!

Tia, I agree that on a special occassion it's ok to splurge. I hope you and your husband have a great time for his birthday! Since you have each other for this journey then I know you will make sure that you both get back on after that. I think planning for an occassional splurge is fine and even necessary sometimes and certainly a birthday qualifies, so enjoy! emoticon emoticon

I agree about the scales being different. That can be so frustrating! I had a digital scale I used at home that's now broken, but at the same time I was using one at work too, thank goodness. Don't laugh, but it's a pallet jack in our warehouse that has a scale. I can just stand on it and figure it must be accurate since we have to weigh pallets to ship with it. It was kinder then the digital I had too, by about 5lbs. The only thing is I can't get naked to do it, like at home, but I do take off my sneakers since they weigh about a pound and a half. I weighed them on a scale we have for small packages since I was curious.

That reminds me Chloe, on another note, I agree that one of the things I would miss about living alone is not being able to be in the house in various stages of dress or undress when I wanted. Make sure you keep that robe handy girl! emoticon

Take care,

Erin

Hey Pink Shrinkers! I hope your Thursday is going beautifully!

Tia, that's so sad about your SD's mom. Giving her bad habits like that. I don't know her mom, so I can't really say anything truly nasty, but it's a shame that she doesn't seem to care enough about her own daughter to keep her from following in her footsteps. Makes me think she must not even like herself very much, she has to bring someone in on her suffering. Can't be alone in her misery. (I don't mean to sound too harsh, I don't want to hurt anyone. My apologies if I seem rude, when I don't even know her.)

Go on an have yourself a merry time celebrating your hubby's bday! Hey, we only have those once a year, right? It's good to splurge once in a while. Don't stress about it!!! :-)

Oh, gosh! Don't you just hate when different scales have different numbers? Sheesh! I try to use only one scale now, the one I have at home. That way, even if it's different from all the others, at least it's consistent. I'm planning on buying a digital one soon, because I think they are much more accurate. (Of course, I'm also putting it off until I get below 200, when I can handle if I'm 5 pounds off without freaking out. Only 26 pounds to go!)

Hey, has anyone ever tried the Weider Total Fitness? It's a lot like the Chuck Norris Total Gym, where you use your weight for your workout like weight resistance, but a heckuva lot cheaper. $100, compared to $1800 for the Chuck Norris one. (Well, I have a coupon for $1000 off, but it's still $800 I'd rather not spend.) I'm seriously considering buying one, since it's such a low price, but don't want to waste my money if it's cheaply made. I'm trying to find a sporting goods store in SF that has one I can try, but I figured I'd ask y'all too.

Thanks!
Chloe

Well, I went to my doctor's office yesterday. Their scale read 257lbs. I told her that was way off. So, I then weighed myself with the scale inside the room and it said 267lbs. When i weigh myself at the gym as I always have, I weigh in at:

Morning all :) It's my husband's birthday today!! Today will be a very bad dinner and dessert, but it's his day :)
Niki, as for what to eat/drink for a long ride, I'm really not sure. I do know that most of those cycling sites are not geared toward someone trying to lose weight, it's for those already in super-human shape who could eat the whole menu at McDonald's and weigh less their metabolism is so high LOL If it's sugar you need during your ride, I'd suggest fruit of some sort. I wish I knew more in this area, but I don't.

Erin, thank you! I'm in love with him just as much as he is with me. Everyone deserves to be as happy as we are. Now, if I could just put as much into my weight loss as I do into my marriage... LOL

Rick, great job on the loss! Keep it up!

Lisa, great loss :) Getting kids ready for school is hectic isn't it?!

Chloe,
I'm glad new roomy understood about not dropping stuff off yet.
I know what you mean about walking by smokers. A lot of the people we hang out with do smoke and it sucks. I used to be a smoker with them and now I'm the odd man out. Sometimes that really sucks. As for the step-daughter, it wouldn't of mattered if there was a higher age on it, her mother would have gotten them for her anyway as she's already done much worse things with her mother at a much younger age. Had she been here this summer instead she probably wouldn't have started, wouldn't have gotten shingles, and would have had that loan in her pocket a month ago. Anyway, what do I know? LOL

Oh and WOOOO HOOOOO!!!! on our progress as a team this week!!!!

Keep it going!

~Tia

Hey, All!

Wow! Good to see the board lighting up with everyone checking in! WOOHOO!!! I LOVE it!

Thank you, everyone, for reading my rant, and for your support! I have few people I can rant to, so it's nice to know that you all are here for me no matter what. We signed the papers today after I left work about 15 minutes early, so we're all set now. He totally understood about the Saturday thing, so we're cool. Again, thank you!

Laura, you are so right about stress not being good for my body. Boy did I go through it today! was scared to be anywhere there wasn't a bathroom! And I never get stressed. At least not physically. But, I think I'm okay now.

Tia, you're so right! I love being able to sit at my computer in just my undies and a t-shirt, especially now when we are going through another heat wave here in the Bay Area. I'm sorry about all the drama with the step-daughter. And totally bummed for you that she started smoking, too! They should make it like alcohol, you have to be 21 to buy/smoke cigs. That would at least delay it for a few years, give kids a chance to think about what they're doing. Funny thing; I didn't start smoking 'til I was almost 22! Cuz I worked in a bar and it was all around me. Now, after just over 2 years of being a recovering smoker, I can't imagine ever smoking again. I don't even think about it unless I'm walking by a bunch of smokers. Then I cover my mouth. Ick!

Niki, I don't know for sure, of course, but I would guess that with all that riding, even though it was cardio, there was a lot of muscle used to get you up those hills. My thought is that you put on some muscle weight. I do know that the more you exercise, the more you need to refuel so that your body doesn't start storing because it thinks you are starving. But I think Erin is right, there are groups of bicyclists on here, and you may want to check in with them to see what they have to say.

Erin, I'm so happy to see you excited again! You are a bright spot in our day, as I think we all are, and I'm sad when you're not around. You have such a great spirit, it really adds to my day. The fact that you use all the emoticons is great too! I know I should take the time, but sometimes I just don't have it to use here. Well, okay. Just one (or three) emoticon emoticon emoticon

Rick, congrats on the loss! And on making it home before 9:00! I know how hard teachers work, and you don't hear it all the time, but you are appreciated. Teaching is one of the most important jobs in the world, but the pay doesn't reflect it. So, thank you, Rick. I appreciate you.

Lisa, woohoo! You are so rocking the challenge! 8.5 pounds down so far, and we still have a week to go! I'm glad you are keeping yourself in mind as you work out schedules. Gotta keep yourself happy in order to make everyone else happy, right? And kudos for helping out your friend!!!

Lynn, I know what you mean. It seems I can't get past this 226! I know I'm getting a lot more exercise, and I'm making up for it by getting enough calories in, but I'm in a bit of a rut. I think I need to seriously change up my exercise routine.

Okay, I'll post the exercise challenge in just a few minutes.

Have a great Thursday, everyone!
Chloe

I'm glad to see everyone losing it's great, I'm still stuck in the first week of school syndrome, I have been at least exercising and eating better than last week, but I can't wait for this cup to pass over me. Anyhow, I hope that you all have a great rest of the week.

Hi Everyone!!!

I hope you are all enjoying your week so far :) I do apologize for not being around as much as I should but life has been a bit crazy with kids starting school, helping a friend get his business off the ground and still looking to find a routine that works for everyone...especially myself :) It'll work out!

Hi Erin and so good to see you again!

Congrats Rick on the 6 lb loss emoticon

Laura I'm so happy for you and congrats on the house!

Chloe I'm sure it will work out and I'm sure if you set the boundries now he'll work within the limits of your arrangements. I'm sure it will work out but don't stress and just remember you have control over whether he stays on :)

Congrats Dana on the 5 lb loss emoticon

Niki you are doing so awesome on your bike...I wish I had that kind of endurance :)

You are all so wonderful and I have been so lucky to be on a team with such great people ...thank you!

Hello All! Been a hectic but good start to the school year for me, this is the first night I have gotten home before 9:00 P.M. this week! I hate that, my recliner has been missing me, but I guess it has been a good thing, since I lost weight:) Have a great week all!

Hi Everyone!

I hope you all had a good day! I'm feeling more and more like I'm getting back in the groove and so excited emoticon about the show and challenge starting!

Laura, emoticon on the house! How exciting!

Chloe, I'm sure it'll all work out. I agree that you were smart to set-up the boundaries. He's a young guy and probably just didn't think anything of just dropping a few things off. You know how men can be. They don't think like us and the things we see as a big deal most of them just don't get. You were right to say no and I'm proud of you for not giving in. emoticon Most of us know how hard that can be to do. Try your best not to stress yourself out about it or let it throw you off track.

Dana, congrats on the 5lb loss! emoticon That's awesome, especially for being on vacation. If I remember correctly you lost 7lbs the last vacation you had. How wonderful! I also remember it was after that last trip you really started having your breakthroughs and I'm so happy for you that you are sticking to taking care of yourself and dealing with your baggage! To me, that can be one of the hardest things while losing weight since it's all connected.

Tia, I'm sorry to hear about all the drama that's going on. Just remember to take care of yourself, no matter what. You deserve it! You had a great weigh-in for it being Shark Week, so you must be doing something right. You'll make those 270's before you know it! As far as I'm concerned having a husband that would chew his own hand off if it would make you happy means you have already hit the jackpot in life! emoticon I checked out your pics and he's adorable on top of that! Score! I pray to be that lucky! emoticon

Sorry Niki, I wish I could offer you some advice, but I just don't know. You've done so well for so long, I know you'll figure it out. To me sometimes it seems like it actully takes our bodies time to catch up to all our hard work and healthy eating, if that makes any sense. Maybe there's a group on here that does alot of riding emoticon and burning tons of calories that would be able to better answer your questions about how to balance things out. Good luck!

Take care,

Erin emoticon emoticon emoticon

Hey everyone.. sorry I'm kinda late checkin in. I was in meetings all morning.

Anyway.. Laura - so happy to hear things went well on the home inspection. It's getting so close you must be so excited!

Tia - All I can say is.. KIDS! lol..

Chloe - Sounds like you got your hands full, but you'll probably do just fine since you set up the boundaries right off the bat.

Dana - glad to see you're back..

And great job to everyone on this weeks weigh in..

I'm not quite sure what happened with me.. either I'm holding on to a boat load of water or something isn't right.

LW - 234.2
CW - 234.4

PL - +0.2

I swear.. you'd think with as much as I'm riding and going to the gym (I burned 2660 on Sat alone) that I would loose something, but I snuck a look at the scale on Sunday just to see what the ride had done, I gained lbs from Saturday to Sunday!! I almost freaked, but then realized it was all water because of the sodium in the electrolytes.

It's one thing I haven't quite figured out.. how to balance my food intake on the days that I'm doing endurance rides. On cycling sites they tell you all this stuff about eating every hour and some of the stuff is like pure sugar. It just doesn't feel right to me, but I know I have to eat something if I'm riding that long.

Anyone have any ideas about this?

Have a fantastic day!

~Niki

Hi all! Great job on the hard work ya'll are doing!

Dana, welcome back! Nice to see you back :)
Chloe, Having roommates can suck, BUT having them can be awesome also. It was definitely good that you didn't let him move in early, take your extra couple days to walk around the house nekkid and get used to the idea of someone else being in the house.

For, my own stuff now LOL I honestly cannot believe how much drama one teenager can bring into your life in less than two weeks. Step-daughter borrowed our truck and moved to the dorms yesterday. We get a call 15 minutes before we are to leave for dinner with another couple. My husband puts the phone on speaker and I hear her crying in hysterics to the point she is inaudible. I get her to take a few deep breaths so I can find out what the problem is (she can freak out this way if someone dies, OR if her boyfriend hangs up on her LOL). She is freaking out because her student loan has not gone through yet and is due tomorrow (today) and the loan company is not picking up and had her on hold for 20 minutes (ONLY 20 minutes! Boy, does she have some life lessons to learn yet!). I get her to put the phone down and get some water to get her calm. The loan company had not received some of the paperwork yet. Thankfully she just called and the loan went through this morning as it was due by 5pm today. I am angry at her for waiting until the last minute to try and get this loan because we have been on her since February to make sure everything is in order and she waited until 9 days before her balance was due to even apply for the dang thing!!!! I told her she better get her butt going for the next semester now to get everything in order accordingly. I also don't understand having to get aid for each semester separately. When I went to school, we applied for two semesters at a time (winter/fall and spring/summer). When did that change?! *sigh* anyway, that's settled for this semester *whew* And she's getting back to normal and not being such a brat either! I am so glad most of the bad influences didn't stick while she was at her mother's. Although, she did start smoking while she was down there. That's disappointing for me.

So, we do meet up with our friends for dinner last night and I'm thinking I can sit back and enjoy dinner, stress free. We sit down and two minutes in my girlfriend gets up and walks out. Her husband says she's having a bad day so I go to see what's up. They are trying to save their marriage, were separated for a year. I guess things haven't changed, he tried for a week and now it's back to where it was before. He quit his job to move here and isn't trying to get another, nore is he helping with their young children.
I have no advice for her on this, I have a 19 year old step-daughter with different issues, no children of my own yet, and a husband that would chew his own hand off if it would make me happy. *sigh*
Even my poor husband had a bad day at work and that's completely unheard of! I am glad that day is over!

I did weigh in today. It is TOM for me so I expected to have major water weight (I can retain upwards of 10lbs at times). Although, it wasn't too bad!

LW - 287.6
CW - 288.4
PL - + 0.8 (like I said, this is awesome! Not even a full pound!)

I did see my nutritionist yesterday and she’s impressed with what I’m doing. Slow but sure will keep it off permanently, I hope! If I can get down into the 270’s, I’ll be convinced that I’m actually losing and not just flux!

I hope everyone is in good spirits today!

Morning everyone! Okay Chloe, just take a deep breath, think positive, and like you said, if it doesn't work out he's gone, stress is not good for your body if you want to keep those pounds coming off! LOL, now that I say that, I'm sure that's part of my problem, on top of the monster (meaning .) visiting right now. Hope everyone has a great day!

Exercise challenge for Wednesday, August 27

60 minutes dancing - woohoo! I love dancing! Pick a fave CD, or tape, or even record! No radio, though. Too many commercials, and you want to keep that heartbeat going.

Enjoy your Wednesday!

Hey, All!

Thanks for your support about the roommate. I'm already freaking out a little. I mean, according to what we signed together, just between us not with the management, we can get this over anytime we want. We agreed to try for 6 months, but it's been so great living on my own, it's just going to be really weird having someone else around.

I just have to rant for a second, though.

Jorell text messaged me today, saying he was coming by tonight to drop off some of his stuff in his room. WHAT?!?!? He hasn't even moved in yet, we haven't met with the management people to confirm it's okay if he moves in, and already he want to store stuff?

I called him as soon as I saw the message and said no. I only have the apartment to myself for 3 more days, and I want those 3 days. I don't want to have to worry about him coming by before Saturday. I called my friend Timmy, who is the one who suggested this whole thing to begin with, and he agreed with me, so I don't feel like a b***h or anything, but JEEZ! He's already moving in 2 days before the beginning of the month (which, of course, I'm not making him pay for), he's getting a free bicycle (which I got for free, but just am not comfortable riding in the City), and a free guitar (which my father bought for me about 10 years ago, but I've never gotten around to learning). On top of all that, there's a couch (loveseat) in his room, a TV and VCR/DVD player (which had been in Timmy's nephew's room downstairs until he moved back to Kentucky, but he's back again - btw, did I mention Jorell and Cory are boyfriends? on and of again - serious drama? What did I get myself into!), and the dresser that was also in Cory's room. He's eventually going to get a bed, but there's a blow-up bed in there for now. A good one, too. And all the bedding he could need. And he wants to move in early?!?!? HECK NO!!!

Whew! Okay, got a lot of that out.

Oh, there are plenty of house expectations, too. Part of the agreement we signed.

No visitors after 8:00 Sun-Thur night. A guest can spend the night either Fri or Sat, but not both. (These apply to me, too, by the way, not just him. Must have respect for the roommate, no?) On the night when guest is not spending the night, must leave by midnight. I control the TV in the living room. (Luckily he hasn't been really watching much anyway.) Biggest Loser's on Tuesday's! No way I'm missing that.

Lots more, but the whole guests thing was huge to me. I'm REALLY hoping he doesn't have Cory over every night. They've gotten together and broken up at least 7 or 8 times, and they've only known each other a year! Or less! Crazy drama. I told him already, no drama. If they start in on something, they have to leave. I won't put up with it.

Anyway, wish me luck!

Lynn, good to see you! It feels like it's been too long!

Laura, I'm so excited for you! I know you are just going to love making that house your home. Woohoo!!!

Dana, welcome home! And way to go on your weight loss while on vacation! That's fantastic! I know you're still working on a lot of personal stuff, and I think you are doing a great job of it. It takes time, and you are making such great headway!

Everyone, next up: Exercise challenge for Wednesday.

Take care!!!

Hey Pinkies,

I'm back, well I've been back from San Antonio since Thursday night late. I've just been so busy with getting things taken care of at the motel and working on the town Visitor & Relocation Guide. I've been so busy that I forget to check in, and that's not like me. I like to check in everyday. I just seem to have so much stuff going on now that I kinda put myself on the back burner when we got back home, and no more of that. I start to go into a slump when I do that and that's not excepted at this time in my life.

As some of you know, I've been dealing with some of the old baggage in my life from my past. And that taking care of things is a most and I can't put myself last or I just fall off the wagon of ups and downs of weight lose. And knowing what's happening and being able to take a step back and tell myself like I am telling all of you that I need to move forward and not backwards is a step in the right direction.

Anywho, I've got some reading to do to catch up on what's been going on with everyone. So I'll make a note to all of you personally, I've missed you all even though I've only been away for a week and half, it seems more like a month.

And I can't believe that this is the last week of the 4 weeks. Now we can all look forward to the BLC#6. I know I can't wait!

I write more tomorrow and read you all too, as Chloe says.

And now for my weight this week:

Hope you Pinkies are having a great last week.

Wow, I feel like I've hardly had time to check in recently, lots of posts since my last! Congrats to all you losers! The home inspection went well yesterday, sooo glad, just a couple things we want them to handle, there are several little things that we're not going to bother with so hopefully they'll agree! We went in with paint swatches and a tape measure so we could get the info we needed and be ready when the closing date comes! I can't wait! Hope everyone is having a great week!

Exercise challenge for Tuesday, August 26...

2-3 sets of 12-15 second banana holds
2-3 sets of 12-15 side lunges, each leg
2-3 sets of 12-15 chest flys, using an exercise ball if you have it.

Tia, instead of doing arm exercises, do an extra set of banana holds, if you'd like. They are tough, so a good workout for sure!

Have a great Tuesday, everyone!

You're welcome, Ms. Erin!

LOL! Yes, I meant to say, "I am now upping my calorie intake" not "I am NOT upping my calorie intake." I've edited my post. Thank you for catching that! Whew! And I do LOVE my milk! I could easily drink 2 gallons a week. And I'm on the non-fat now. I was on the 2% for a while, then the 1%, and finally went all the way to non-fat. Now, on the rare occasions when I actually have whole milk, it tastes so RICH! Good, but I can't have it very often.

I can't wait 'til you hit the 240's! I know it won't be long now! Even if not by the end of this challenge, you are so in the groove to do it in the BL6 challenge, I just know it!

We're all going to rock that challenge!

Thanks Chloe! I know I would've really been better off if I hadn't stopped posting and will try to remember that next time I get in a funk.

I actually find it very easy to believe that you may not have been getting enough food, especially when you're working out so much. emoticon Did you mean to say "am now upping my calorie intake"? I hope so.

Girl, don't feel guilty for drinking that milk. Making sure you get enough calcium actually helps with losing weight and body fat. I have read this over and over and awhile back when I had some success losing that's one thing I made sure I got enough of and something I've realized that this time I have not been as diligent about. I'm definitely going back to that since I really feel like it made a difference before.

Thanks Angela! I sure hope you're right about that pound sliding right off. emoticon Hopefully with 3 more added to it since for the next 2 weeks my goal is to say good bye once and for all to the 250's. I know I can do it! I've come so far and refuse to give up!

I can't wait for the Biggest Loser show to start and our next BLC. It's such an inspiration and now that I've found Spark I know it'll be even better doing the challenge along with the show. I'm getting pretty excited about it! emoticon

Hey, Pink Shrinkers!

Yeah, I'm a bit nervous about giving up my privacy, but I really think it will be okay. He's a good kid, very focused on school, so it should be fine.

Laura, let us know how the house inspection went! I'm so excited for you!

Andrea, way to go! A loss is a loss, right? WooHOO!

Niki, I do know that Jorell is a neat freak, so I'm guessing the place'll be cleaner than it has on a regular basis than in the past 4 years. Not that it's a pigsty or anything, but maybe I vacuum every other week instead of every week. And sometimes I leave the dishes for a few days, since I have enough and sometimes I just don't have the energy to do them. (I always rinse and soak them, just don't always wash them right away.) So, that'd be sweet!

And I read your blog. WOOHOO! Way to go, Girl! And you totally deserved those chocolate chip cookies! YUMMY!!! I'm so proud of you for doing that ride. I know how much you wanted to do it, and you pushed yourself more than you thought you could, and you conquered! You are FABULOUS!!!

Erin, Girl, we missed you! But oh so glad to have you back! Way to go on the weight loss! I know what you mean about that one pound. I've been doing the same thing for the past month or so, too. It SUCKS! And the past two weeks, I've been working out like a fiend! In fact, more than tripling my cardio! I think, believe it or not, I was not getting enough food. So, I changed my settings and am now upping may calorie intake. I kinda like that, though. Makes me not feel guilty when I drink milk that might normally take me over my limit.

Good to see you all here! Keep up the great work, Ladies and Gents, and I'll read you soon!

Chloe

PS - Will post the exercise challenge shortly.

Erin, way to go! That pound will slide right off. Niki, congrats on the bike race! Laura, congrats on (almost) closing the house! Chloe, I'm sure the roommate will work out fine. I know how hard it is to find housing in SF!

Hi Everyone!

I'm sorry I haven't been posting. I've been in a funk for awhile and am finally starting to come out of it. I hope you're all doing well!

Chloe, good luck with the roommate! It sounds like it'll work out just fine. I agree that it's definitely a good thing to clear out the junk. That's something I really need to do too. It's amazing how much stuff you can accumulate and I think most of us get to a point and realize we don't even really need most of it.

I was pretty good this week with my eating and was amazed when I weighed myself today!

LW - 257
CW - 253
PL - 4

This felt so good after losing and gaining the same pound for the last few weeks! I'm really starting to believe that sometimes it takes time for our bodies to catch up, if that makes sense.

Only 1 more pound for a total of 30 lost! I also can't wait to get under 250! I know that losing another 4lbs this week is unlikely, but I'm gonna try my best to stay on-track and hope that this will renew my resolve.

Take care,

Erin

Hi guys.. Hope everyone had a great weekend. I think I'm still a bit out of it after Saturday (BAO ride).

If you want to read about it, I have a blog for cycling now at:

adventuresofgeekgrrl.wordpress.com/

My eating wasn't the best, but Friday I had whole wheat pasta trying to get a good meal in before the ride. Then we went out to eat after the ride and I swear I was so hungry it was like I hadn't eaten in days.

I wore my heart rate monitor during the ride and according to that I burned 2664 cal during the ride. Crazy huh?

Chloe.. congrats on the roommate and you never know, it could be a great thing not only for financial reasons. Our friends tease my partner and I saying they are going to put a sign over our door that reads "Home for wayward lesbians". We seem to always have someone living in our back room. Most of the time the girls that stay with us are younger and are great to have around for big projects around the house. :)

Anyway.. hope everyone has a great day!

~Niki

Exercise Challenge for Monday, August 25:

30 minutes walking in place, keep those knees high!
30 minutes shadow boxing, hopping around, keep those feet moving!

Lisa, I'm so jealous! I love the Cirque de Soleil show! I've seen a couple, and they are just so amazingly beautiful.

You're welcome. You really are doing fabulously well! And he moves in this weekend. EKE!!! So many things are going to have to change. No crawling out of bed in the middle of the night and going to the bathroom w/o grabbing my robe first. Wah!

:-)

Hi, You Shrinking Pinksters!

Welcome to Week 4 of the Mini Challenge. I hope you had a fantastic weekend!

Big news - I'm getting a roommate! I'm really freaked, because I've been living alone for nearly 4 years, and I love it! But, I certainly could use the extra money, pay of my credit card bills quicker. In the long run, I think it's a good decision. I've known this kid for about a year, and he's a good kid. Full time student at SF State, and works, too. So, hopefully things will go well. Of course, it means I've had to really clean out most of the stuff from the 2nd bedroom. Man! I've collected so much JUNK! But, I'm getting rid of a lot of it, and that can't be anything but good.

Anyway, stop by and say hi, chat and post your weight by Wednesday, if you please.

Thank you! And have a GREAT final week of the mini challenge!

Chloe
